You guys are all lucky you are not on the Redbirds forum cos you would have all had red cards by now, for going completely off thread.

Luckily I am willing to get back to the OP question.....I agree we should, I paticularily like the smell of Mocha Java especially when I am not sleeping ;)

Thats great Dai, but seeing as your quick enough to criticise, then lets look at the first half of the season which is what counted and got us the points.

So we had 9 from the last 12 games right? So 9/36

So in our first 26 games, we got 37/78

Which if we stayed on form as our first 26 games worked out, we actually only dropped 8 points in our final 12 games compared to what we would have hoped for.

As based on our first 26 games, our average points per game was 1.42. Based on 38 games = 54 points. So we lost how many points? 8.....8 points lost, that's nothing. Considering how well our start went, 8 points is absolute nothing, far from relegation problems.

Numbers can work in any favour you want them too, what you have provided is no proof at all, as we may have only got 9 points, but we deserved more for some of the performances, plus many were written off due to who we were playing, you don't debate, you say your point, but do nothing to back it up.

Now if we had played really badly, then I would take your point, but we didn't, we just played without that little extra which is the difference, because of what others are saying is right, our season was over, we had nothing to fight for, we had nothing to gain, we won our cup, we were realistically safe, stick your maths up your arse in terms of not being far ahead of relegation.

Wigan in 38 games, didn't amass the same point total as we had in 26 games, that's how damn good we were.
Reading in 38 games, didn't amass the same point total as we had in 21 games, that's how damn good we were.
QPR in 38 games, didn't amass the same point total as we had in 20 games that's how damn good we were

You certainly are a glass half empty kinda guy.

Quite right swansalona. What should also be mentioned is that we had a far tougher finish to the season than start. This season sees us with a tough start - so we will be playing catch up.
