Wages will be a huge issue, we already pulled out of a move for him once because of his stupid wage demands and now he's fallen out with Inter because he refused to take a pay cut, he hasn't really been outstanding for quite a while now and has suffered injury after injury for the best part of two years, he's not worth the risk in my opinion, I'd rather Fergie paid twice as much for someone on half the wages who can offer a bit more defensively which is where we are weaker at the minute.

    We've got Cleverly.

Like I said previously, no one is forcing us to pay the wages he's on now. If he wants to play at United the balls in his court really.
The deal only becomes viable IF he drops his salary. Otherwise he doesn't sign, it really is quite simple. No one is obligated to match what he's on now.

At 8 million you get a player at his peak, on the going rate of pay, there's nothing bad about that deal. If he decides that money is his deciding factor then he can bugger off to someone else willing to pay it.

It's a way better idea than signing Lampard who will be 35 by then.

At his peak is a matter of opinion, I think he's been steadily going downhill for a few years and he's suffered a lot of injuries in that time too.

Well yes, of course it is.

But considering he's a little younger than van Persie who is clearly very much at his peak and has a poor previous injury record and that a lot of his inactivity has been down to Inter not playing him then I think he's potentially at his peak.

Even when he was still playing though he was regularly being outshone by the likes of Guarin and Alvarez. I used to be a big fan of Sneijder but now I just can't see him taking enough of a cut in wages for it to be good move in the long run, I'd much rather see those wages used to push for the likes of Strootman and James Rodriguez.

My primary concern on him is the potential disruption rather than fitness or form. Someone like him coming mid season could be very counter productive, if it were to happen it would smoother in the summer and he'd be an actual replacement then for Scholes and Giggs, who could retire in peace.

I just feel at that cost he could an absolute bargain.

Agree though on Strootman, it looked promising last summer and he appears to be just the type of player we actually need.

Rumors suggest the club wanted to keep hold of him for one more season and that he could be on the move this summer, I do wonder if that's the reason Fergie never really pushed to sign another deeper lying midfielder in the summer, if the future Strootman deal was in the back of his mind.

    Absolute no brainer

    1. He turned us down last year
    2. He doesnt get on with RVP, so would you sacrifice Van Persies goals for Scnieder?

He didn't turn us down as such, he just priced himself out of the move by asking for ridiculously high wages and he apparently wanted a lot of silly "perks", such as United buying his house in Milan so that he didn't have to go through the hassle of putting it on the market himself.

No, that ****er is a liability, and yes into some proper kinky ****. My mates nan is a prossie, she reckons Wesley asked her to smack him in the bollocks with a bag of sprouts while standing on his naked chest wearing wellies while singing "I got a brand new combine harvester". He'll lead your younger players astray
