Selling tiote is a no no. He brings out the best in cabaye. Which is a good enough reason to keep him already

There's ne chance the fat cnut will re-invest so I would be gutted if we sell him.

Having said that - I bet he does sell him and I wouldn't even be shocked if he sold Cabaye too :p

I wouldn't sell Tiote, not for 30 million in January. From the moment Tiote stepped on the pitch last year I thought right away this guy is world class. He's everywhere. And he will still only get better. Tiote could easily be the new Makalele, so no, hold onto him. He could be worth 50 mio to Barcelona or Real Madrid in 2 years time. How long is his contract? I'd offer him a new contract now.

We shouldn't sell at ANY price. It's as simple as that.

We've got a potentially world class player for pennies, and it would be EXTREMELY difficult to ever do that again. Instead of spending £10-20mill on a replacement who probably isn't even as good, just keep the bargain and be grateful that we got such a class player for so little money.

But the reason we have the best scouting team is so that he can sell players like this for stupidly high prices and replace them with another 5m signing. If 30m comes in and is offered, i say take it. As long as we have a replacement in mind.

    No we shouldn't sell.

It's all well and good saying we can go out and buy a replacement for him and make a profit, but if we seriously want to progress as a club there has to be a point at which we keep our top players at all costs. Look at Modric at Spurs, thats what we should be doing, by all means sell off the squad players and bring in better, younger replacements but to keep improving we need to hold on to our best players.

He signed a 6 and a half year deal last winter so he still has a very long time left on his current deal!

There is every risk that there simply isn't another player available who is so good for so little money. No matter how good the scouting network is, if the player isn't there then he isn't there. It's as simple as that. If we were unable to find a player just as good as Tiote for a low price, then our team would instantly become weaker. The model relies on continually buying players just as good, if not better, then the previous player, otherwise the team will slowly go backwards.

There will be players who are potentially as good but they will be unproven, just like Tiote was when we signed him. The whole reason that he cost 3.5m and now is worth 20m+ is because he has now proven himself in a top league.
