Haha I was actually going to write - 'shall we sell him for kebab meat?!'

But I prefer your idea - basically Saw for footballers!

Last year it did appear he had a brain and could play out from the back.

This year is just totally unrecognisable.

What the **** was he even doing for their goal today, looked like he had a splint on each leg for that 'clearance'

    Who do we start though?

We've spent £20 million on him and a further £15 million on Sakho who were bought in to push out Skrts, replace Agger - with Toure as back-up.

In reality both Sakho and Lovren have been pants and we've had to rely on what we've had for years in Skrtel who just hasn't performed this year, and relied on our back up in Toure who has actually done okay.

We've tried to address the problem and failed! And now we're trying again.

    What a waste of dough.

And spent a further £7 mill on Llori. Is he not worth a game?

At this stage what have we got to lose by putting Sahko in with Lovren and leaving out Skrtel. Let them get a run of games together and see if they work out some sort of partnership.

My problem is neither of them are footballers, Sahko is especially poor at passing and shielding the ball under pressure. Add Johnson to that and wtf is with Moreno, he had time today to get back behind Allen and he trotted through centre midfield instead, lazy bastard should have been pelting back, not impressed with this Moreno guy defensively at all so far.

Skrtel is our best defender and that is f**ing scary<laugh> Johnson Lovren Skrtel Moreno Sahko Toure are all liable to have shockers. No wonder we concede so many.

We could have got two better CBs from Europe for the cash we paid for Lovren<doh> Ming is a bust and his 2nd is not up to it either

Yeah its a right ****ing mess isn't it <ok> <laugh>

The back 5 is pony if we're honest.

One thing missing from all of them is composure. Not of them have it.

All are likely to get worried and thrash it anywhere/give away the ball cheaply under pressure.

As we've paid for Lovren and Sakho you're right we may as well give them 4/5 games and just keep them there.

Make them work hard and find form.

I feel a little sorry for Toure mind, who has earnt his play there above them - not that he's brilliant, but he's been okay and showed some balls.

I wouldn't be too bothered if Johnson never played again for us.

I'd have Manquillo in. He'll get done from time to time, but no more than Johnson, and hopefully he can learn from that - and hopefully Flanno can come back soon and they can compete for the place.

Moreno has been pony of late, but a few do rate him. I'm not sure. I thought Jose played well midweek so is he not worth a game?

    Sell Lovren in January then?

He's being slated on the radio. Criticized for hiding on the pitch and blaming team mates. Subbed off at half time to. Lovren is on very thin ice.

A bigger waste of money than Carroll.

Time will tell on that part.

Starting to think about retracting my statement about keeping him.

He looks absolute ****e atm and is showing no sign of improvement.

Doubt we'd sell him and at current would make a huge loss.

By playing him maybe Rodgers is actually auditioning him for January?

Going to harp on about Lyon again, so pre warned.

Lovren seems like a coward, gets himself into a club and if things don't go well straight off he seems to hide and get worse cause he doesn't have the fight to improve and prove himself. At Soton he had a great start, looked solid and the team was doing well, in turn Lovren looked good and kept his level to roughly what it was all season, with a dip towards the end.
However at Lyon, bad start and only got worse and at no point did he look like he was ever going to stand up and try to improve him game. Obviously fans were then getting on his back cause he was costing goals and Lovren turns into hiding mode and making more mistakes cause he wants to hide on the pitch.

At the moment I'd keep Skrtel, mainly because even though he's not the best at least he wont hide and will give his all. That being said he is pretty much a poor defender, but a committed poor defender.

Or maybe Skrtel is committed to being a poor defender? <laugh>

  13. I'd sell them both and buy a decent CB with the cash. Get Wisdom and Ilori back too.

Yep, sell both Skrtel and Lovren.

Sell Lovren because he's sh*t and sell Sktel because he is also sh*t but he's old, doesn't fit with the playing from the back philosophy and he can't help develop/guide a younger defender.

I just hope Rodgers now sees how much better Sakho is than Lovren, and I hope Rodgers realises that he hasnt got a clue when it comes to transfers so should stay out of it. Lovren for £20m will go down as one of the worst pieces of business this club has done.

How much is he worth now?? 10 million at a push?? If we don't ship him out in Jan then his value's going to still be on the slide till summer. Same with Balotelli. Same with most of those we want shut of actually. Will the club accept those kinds of losses, so there's that. Then there's the fact that what club is going to be interested in buying these failures?? For Balotelli we would probably have to look at clubs like Galatasaray or Besiktas, but he wouldn't go because they're not big enough and wouldn't fit the obvious delusions of grandeur he has. Think we have a few players with this, Borini for example thinking he's better than Sunderland. Alright, it's in the sportsman's DNA to have an ego and believe that you're better than you are but come on. At least we actually saw Borini tonight, looked like they'd pulled him out of a medical bag they've been storing him in.
