Yes and No to your questions. Zigic has started the last 2 Birmingham games (0-0 @ home to the wendies and last saturdays 2-0 win @ the Posh and he scored the first goal) but King has been missing from both matches. Both Clark and Zigic have cleared the air so to speak since the outburst. Lovenkrands has been playing alongside Zigic.
Depends if Faye is fit as I think Faye will be required for Birmingham's aerial presence, saving McShane for the Palace game
Aye as my previous post said, i'd like to see Faye on saturday but i have a feeling due to fitness and injury and the hammering vs bolton, the familar presence of Mcshane will probably be preferred
Hobbs should not be dropped! I would like to see Koren in midfield but I think we will see Alex Bruce play there
Its called squad rotation especially with the Palace 4 days later. Faye and McShane are more suited to the Birmingham game. Faye cannot play 2 games in a week anymore. You can bet your life that Boyd will start.
He can.... and he was. Bruce was awful at CM, he didn't even win any headers which i assume was the reason he was put in there.
Thats why I think he will play Bruce in CM so that he can bring in Faye for his aerial presence but still have Bruce to defend set pieces
There isn't any need for Alex Bruce to play there when we have Evans and Cairney waiting in the wings to play; his defensive duties are pretty good, but he can't play a pass to save his life. His legs seem to wobble when he runs with the ball. He can break up play alright and his tackling is ok, but as a midfielder he needs to do more. As in, actually train to be a midfielder, because just starting there doesn't make you one. I'd love to see Burnsy ask Bruce why he keeps playing his son in that midfield role when two technically better footballers have to wait on the bench.
We'll need the ball and someone who knows how to find those two for it to succeed. That's why Alex Bruce can't start in midfield and Koren must. I might get shot down in flames with this comment but Gedo isn't that easy to play with from a midfielders point of view. Great goal scorer and poacher but still not the easiest to bring into play. He doesn't show himself enough and his runs are hard to judge or so I've been told.
Birmingham are just ripe for the taking. An awful mess of a club both on and off the pitch and got lucky @ Peterboro who appeared from reports to be suffering from PBDS (Post Boyd Departure Syndrome) and were gifted the game. As for the Tigers they can put the Bolton game to bed very quickly on saturday and bang in a few goals. With no midweek game the week they should be fresh and rarin to go. Being the home team we have to go all out from the off and start like Bolton did against us. IMO, there is room for both Boyd and Koren in the starting 11 but with Koren playing back in his normal role. If Elmo and Brady are banging over those crosses and Boyd and Koren supply the amunition then Gedo can fill his boots.
True. Those comments about him being quite difficult to play with are based on the opinion of someone who knows a lot more about football than me by the way. I never noticed it but then again I don't notice a lot of what goes on or completely must interpret it at times. Quite badly sometimes as well.
I'll go with which ever team SB puts out. He knows better than anyone on here how to counter his old team. He also knows who is doing the business in training and on match days and if he picks AB in midfield it's ok by me, as I think (not certain) we have a 100% record when he's played in that position. The 8 minute disaster on Saturday was nothing to do with SB and his record with selection this season shows he puts a lot of thought into individual opponents and he's not afraid to make changes even if they're unpopular.
Gedo has very good off the ball movement but obviously he's played with players who know him in and out such as his ah ahly and egypt players
Its a good job we are doing well. It seems any little thing is an opportunity to have a go at Alex Bruce. Hobbs was piss poor for the first and second goals as was Chezzy. Lets not forget Hobbs was dropped after Wedensday. Jack Hobbs can be a good premiership CB but i think he goes into the comfort zone too much. Was superb against Bburn then performance dipped. Look at the way big Abdi attacks corners, a ****ing beast, when has Hobbs ever done this. The leicester lot said he was like that there too. Same with Chezzy, a good CB needs to be good at corners at both ends. I've said it for ages Evans is a weak link. Not sure Meyler's game is suited to that role, so get AB in there. A big part of Alex Bruce's game is talking and organising something no one else does.
I'd much rather have monster Faye back in the mix but McShane has been awesome of late and it wouldn't break my heart to see him back in. I can't take out Hobbs or Chester so it's a difficult decision on who to have at the back. It's obvious something maybe needs to change after that horror 10 mins...
