I think we picked up Moreiera first and he wasn't cheap. Tremmel came on a free and then we picked up Vorm just a few days before the Man City game.
Agree with Ivor you can't knock what he's been doing and a clean sheet is priceless at this level. AS for distribution, didn't see too much wrong on Sunday, keep him between the sticks is what I say!
Actually SA i wasnt sure but here is the answer. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...emmel-as-competition-for-michel-vorm?cc=5739#
I voted to keep tremmel in purely down to the fact that he hasnt done anything wrong at present and knowing that vorm will be refreshed and chomping at the bit when he do return, have to be fair and that is where i think ML will pull vorm to one side and explain this to him and i think vorm will be happy. Rodgers would of just binned tremmel as soon as vorm was fit again.
vorm will have to wait for his chance again just like tremmell. two good keepers with nothing between them and tremmell has grasped his chance with both hands (excuse the pun) to drop him now for vorm after his fine display would be wrong and detrimental to his career.....If there is a solution then rotate them game by game,,,Im comfortable with both keepers....
Rodgers would of just binned tremmel as soon as vorm was fit again. Beppe come on mate you dont know what Brendan would have done...Its comments like this that dont give any credibility to the Brendan Bashers....
Dai do you honestly think rotation would work. There is no way. Tremmel has only come on due to him playing week in week out. when he has played the odd game he looked shaky and poor. I know Manure sometimes do it, but i dont think either goalkeeper there is that good and fergie cant decide which one is the better. I would have no problem with tremmel keeping his place. But IMO i think when Vorm is fully fit he weill be back in. Nice problem though
well if you are comfortable with both players then i dont mind who sir mike plays, It will keep both keepers on their toes as they wont know which one of them sir mike will select....Its a good position to be in...
SA i know we had another german on trial with us earlier in the pre season. that guy is now at Preston i believe it was Thorsten Stuckmen. Cant remeber seeing Tremmel, the first i remember watching him was in a reserve match at Parc y Scarlets.
Dai I am going.on previous players under Brendan. I would never snipe at buck in any way because everything he done was what he thought was the best for swansea city. but you have to agree he had his little gang and if you weren't in it you weren't in it example routledge & Sinclair he would never drop Sinclair for routledge even with his average season last year. and the same would of been with tremmel I feel
Watching Vorm being carried off at the Etihad really concerned me as what I had seen of Tremmel had left me unconvinced but have to say he has surpassed anything I could have expected of him and he really has been an excellent replacement. Saying all that I think that once Vorm is fully fit he should be back between the sticks as he is still the better keeper.
I agree he kept on selecting Danny when he should have gone with lita or Moore last season. I honestly think we would have finished higher than 11th if we did....
I've not read this thread through in full but I'll give my two pence worth. I voted to reinstate Vorm for the simple reason that he is way too good a keeper to let sit on the bench. I'm not saying that Tremmel isn't good, he is playing very well at the moment - but for sheer agility, shot shopping ability and distribution, Vorm is on another level. I would not want a disgruntled Vorm leaving in the summer because we kept playing Tremmel (in my mind, an inferior keeper). Tremmel has proved his worth as a high quality number 2 - we should give him all cup games (including latter stages if we're there) and also use him in rotation with Vorm for a few league matches a year. Vorm has number 1 on his back because he's the better keeper. Your best keeper should be on the pitch for your competitive matches.
you can debate who is best. I dont think he is any better than tremmel and tremmell is no better than vorm, We have seen some horrendous blunders by vorm by the way but as yet tremmell is spot on....why change when its not broken...
We've had two blunders that I can remember from Vorm - first goal against Reading that he should have saved, and the goal against at Villa Park that he dived out of the way of. Other than those, he's been exemplary. Tremmel, in around 5x less games than Vorm has made more errors. Both goals last season at Stoke were stoppable, one was a dribbling header that he got both hands to. Both goals against Barnsley in the FA Cup last season he should have kept out. Vorm has had almost 50 starts for Swansea now, and he's definitely made less keeper gaffes that Tremmel even though he's played so many more minutes. If we lose a Dutch international keeper because we persist with Tremmel, that's definitely a mistake in my opinion. Maybe not yours, but definitely mine. Like I said, Tremmel is having a good run of games though and playing well. But Vorm is better keeper for me, and for that reason, I feel he should be playing if fit.
