I wanted the 4231 formation but today it was more like 424 at times. No matter what formation he picks the team still plays the same

We already have one in the building, his name's Tony Pennock.

Edit:- For me Bruce stays until we see what impact a fit Maloney and Diomande can bring to the team, if the performances don't improve at that point he can go, and I'd seriously bring Pennock in, initially as caretaker manager, he can't possibly do any worse. As for Phelan he can leave when Bruce does because he certainly ain't ably assisting at the moment.

I've just watched highlights of the Brighton goal - appalling defending yet again. Quite strange to have such defensive frailties given that was the position that Bruce played.

That's a fair point, but weren't you a big fan of Allam treating us with disdain?

I'm not a massive Pearson fan, I just don't buy into the retrospective image of his style. People weren't complaining at the time apart from a maligned few on here. He's a much better manager than he is a person.

With the centre backs we have we shouldn't fear anyone, this should be our base to go at teams. There's clearly issues we just aren't getting any better, I don't remember us been this bad last time in the championship with a squad no were near as good

He certainly doesn't seem as happy as he did, but I think he'll stick with it for now, if he was going to walk I think it would have been early in the summer.

I think he's becoming tired, he must realise despite what he says we aren't playing well and he carnt change it. That's not just this season but last, I never thought I'd want him to leave but I'm starting to feel he's gone as far as he can

Surely he doesn't. We played this dour and looked this bad long before his arrival, and we still play this dour and look this bad long after.

What was the formation today? I don't think the players knew either.

Go back to tried and tested 3-5-2. And bring junior Bruce back in. Play Elmo or Moses on the left if they can't both play on the right.

And if that doesn't sort it, bye bye Bruce senior.

Play one of them on the left? If SB actually does that then he really has lost the plot!

We need an old fashioned "Battering ram" type centre forward who can hold the ball up, be a target man and bring others into the game. We have players on both flanks with the potential to provide chances a plenty but they have no one to aim for! All of our current forwards are similar in style with good pace but not enough power. Too easy for us to be out muscled by opposition defenders at the moment. Someone must be available in the loan market so lets hope SB can bring in someone decent who is not injured!

I'm with you 100% on that one Yorkshire. I was ecstatic when we signed Huddlestone although I thought it strange that Spurs had let him go for 5.5 mill. Last season we found out why. Unfortunately Bruce seems to be the only man in Hull who hasn't got the message. I am just praying that we will loan him (Huddlestone) out and get back to playing fast, creative, attacking football. But it is never going to happen while Bruce is here. Its a travesty that with the quality of players that we have sunk to the depths displayed in the first halves at Charlton and Brighton. For this I blame Bruce and his tactics. The sooner he's gone the better.!!

Interesting idea. Pennock has certainly got the young lads playing exciting attacking football and banging in the goals. Aren't the u-21s unbeaten so far this season in the higher division? I know its probably out of the question while the Allams are in charge but given the way things are going that might change opening the door for the return of...Nick Barmby. Before his sudden departure we were playing some of the best attacking football we've played in years. And with Pennock as his assistant we could change the whole mentality of the team. Anything would be better than the same old Bruce tactics every week. How many points did we throw away last year by trying to defend a one goal lead in the last 20 minutes and sending everyone back in our own half??
