I just had chance to watch that video and I have to say I'm mightily impressed with how Vettel was so frank and how he's so much of a team man. Not surprised by the way he's handling this at all. Good on him.
One thing Vettel's interview did highlight is the ridiculousness of testing in Bahrain and the logistics of being able to get new parts from the factory back in Europe... Complete crazyness!
That's so out of character for Bernie too... Edit: The F1 pundits have become far better looking than they were when I left Blighty... When did that come about?
I think all those smiles are just a cover... Smile and let people thing you are ok...inside you are melting. Some people train themselves to react that way in order to hide disappointment. And I think this is a perfect example of this.
Or maybe there's just no point in throwing spanners around the garage, because that not going to sort out their problems.
Jenson Button like he also believes that Red Bull has something up its sleeve too. It's either that or McLaren isnt as fast as I thought. What I think Red Bull might be working on is giving up speed on the straights for speed in the corners. The idea is that if they can match you or are just behind you on the straights then they could eat your up in the corners...like at the second part of last year. I think it is something specific they are working on and once they get it right then we should be in for a very exciting year. If I am wrong and they dont have something special in their back pockets then ... I just hope the other teams at the front will give us a great spectacle. http://www.gptoday.com/ March, 2014 Daniel Ricciardo and Jenson Button during Bahrain testing It is no secret that Red Bull were plagued by one problem after another during reseason testing in Bahrain, but there were a few flashes of brilliance from the RB10 that has Jenson Button worried. Speaking to media in Bahrain, Button said, “I’m always worried about Red Bull If they can put a few laps together you can see their pace. They’re strong. It’s a good-looking car; it looks like it should work from an aerodynamic point of view and I think when they do get reliability, if they do, they’ll be very, very competitive.” “I was driving with Ricciardo for quite a few laps and he couldn’t get past me on the straights. He overtook me around the outside of Turn 11 instead, which is a high-speed left-hander. I’ve never seen anything like that before,” declared the McLaren driver. “If they can complete a race distance, they’ll be near the front,” predicted Button. But what cost is the aero cost of the rumoured new Red Bull body work? I would imagine the Aus spec Red Bull's body work will still be better aerodynamically than most, if not all the teams, even with the fast redesign and compromises required for the Renault Power unit. The real question is can Renault get a power unit together that can last the race?
