SB 73, cheers mate. Upon reflection that first sentence was a bit of a shocker wasn't it. Right now, I bloody hope QPR get an away win in the Premier League sharpish. Don't fancy a trip to Upton Park right now, as the Hammers look decent.
Hi Jim, thanks for taking the time to come on here and reply to the posts on this thread with such honesty and decency. It was me that contacted you via Twitter for permission to post your article. I thought it was an interesting and thought provoking piece. I'm just sorry that it wasn't as well received on here as well as I had expected. I intended to post on this thread ( having started it ) sooner but shift work and a life away from here prevented that. I remember a time before teletext when the only news you received about QPR was in the sports pages of a red top and even these were very limited. Quite often it wasn't until you turned up to a pre-season friendly to realise who the club had signed in the close season. In contrast, today we have social media, football forums and everything else that the World Wide Web brings to satiate our need for constant updates on our club, and something we demand on almost an hourly basis when we take time to log-in to our preferred platform. I do feel that the club and it's media team do an excellent job regarding this. Everyday there are at least five news feeds on events and happenings pertaining to QPR on the offish. That's all fine and well regarding the playing side of things such as player/manager interviews, tunnel cam and LCI but your sentence . . . ''Hereâs an idea. If in doubt, say nothing. Better yet, wait until a spade has broken ground before revealing anything to the press and the fans.'' is bang on the money. Especially regarding the training ground and the new stadium I do feel that a lot of the transfer news which you touched upon in this paragraph ... ''The same can be said for QPRâs transfer policy. In recent years, Iâve got fed up of hearing who we are linked with and signings being revealed before the club have even said so. Itâs true that transfer speculation happens at all clubs, but wouldn't it be wonderful for QPR to simply tell us that a player has been signed and we've heard nothing or very little about it?'' This isn't the fault of the media team or the club. They withhold all news on this until it has been aired by SSN, Talksport or a similar ITK on social media. The club or manager may comment on it but very rarely do they until it's a done deal. There of course have been exceptions to this.. ie The 'Hooper' signing when Harry said it was almost done and when TF said on Twitter that we should get ready for some 'Mind blowing' signings that didn't happen pre last season. But new signings are not usually mentioned through the official channels until they are 'over the line.' As I have said previously, I thought you wrote a good piece with some good points. I sincerely hope that you can contribute on here in the future as good posters are always welcome and valued on this site. It's QPR Jim, but not as we know it.
