Time to move on, John. Playing days are over and time to cut your coaching teeth elsewhere. We need a fresh start
Ah sorry fella misunderstood I thought you meant on a "personal" level I don't mind him tbh (all about opinions) and am certainly not going to fall out with anyone about that - I honestly think that he'd be a very good coach/manager one day for someone.
I wouldn't let a character like that get close to me on a personal level mate, unless of course I didn't know.
I think any veteran you have who comes out with a "I want to stay and fight" statement should at the very least be told that a hefty pay-cut is on the table. Catts, O'Shea and the like must still be headed towards high pay by league one standards and if they are genuine about trying to fix some of the mess they have helped create they need to show more than words. Cut loose or at the very least take a pay cut. Can't enforce it of course but I suspect some will be saying the right words as they think it's their best route to another year or two of sponging from the club.
No, he has to go. He's absolutely ****e and always has been. He wont be decent in League One just like he wasn't decent in the Championship and just like he wasn't decent in the Premier League. I can't ****ing stand this "he's a great organiser" ****e whenever we happen to keep a clean sheet either side of batterings with him at the heart of the defence. Look at some of the goals we've conceded from set pieces this season man. Hes the leader and supposed general at the back. We need a total clear out bar the youngsters. Giving him a new contract is like a woman who keeps going back to her abusive husband. When will we learn?
I wouldn't let him drive the team coach, nothing about him as captain inspires fight and confidence in his team mates, no way I'd want him coaching.
I think some fans are a bit too harsh on him. Fair enough he's practically finished now, but he did as well as he could when he was called upon. It wasn't his fault we failed to replace him properly
K(k He was almost finished when we signed him. Still a positive Influence at the club imo not brilliant but still worth keeping in a coachimg role but definitely not as a coach driver
I'd rather give Gibson the job, in all seriousness both JoS and Catts need to go, sooner the better, shame De Canio didn't get the backing to sort them out, Shorts biggest mistake imo.
