Nope. Some of us stuck by him from start to finish, didn't want him to leave, and even bought his autobiography
You do your argument no favours there, ST. First you make **** up by saying that they make **** up - they got the story from 2 independent sources. Granted, they didn't check the story as thoroughly as they should have, but they didn't make it up. Secondly, they retracted the story within a few days. The Strachan story is still up there years later. You've painted yourself into a corner on this one and I'd advise you to give up.
First of all, the dog story was exactly that: a story. And yes, the BBC did get it wrong by not checking the source first. The article you cited was the opinion of an anonymous BBC employee. There is no evidence that the Celtic support "turned on Strachan" as you originally claimed and you've provided no evidence to back this up. Now, stop making an arse of yourself and go post some Neil Lennon images like you usually do.
Of course it's opinion, you balloon. There's no scientific measurement that can be taken to show how much Celtic fans had 'turned on Strachan'. However, the lack of support he had at the time was there for all to see. Even your fellow fans admit it. If you want to keep digging, carry on, but you really are making an arse out of yourself. And don't say that I don't do anything for you. please log in to view this image
Squiggy You clearly don't know the difference between having doubts about a manager's ability and "turning on him" (which is what you claimed). If you could provide us with one piece of evidence of the Celtic fans "turning on" Strachan then you'd have a leg to stand on. Say Celtic fans holding banners saying something like "We Deserve Better" for example. But you can't because you're talking pish. The Celtic fans never turned on Gordon Strachan at any time during his four year tenure. Maybe you should choose your words more carefully, especially when calling someone an arse when all you've done is make a complete tit of yourself. I'll wait for you to provide some evidence of the Celtic fans "turning on" Strachan but I wont hold my breath.
I turned on him Benefit of doubt at artmedia and Motherwell 4 - 4 But after 18 months of dross and him calling it spectacular I got more enjoyment out of laughing at rangers I wouldn't say I wanted him sacked...he was winning after all but I wanted him to see the problems our team had that were obvious to everyone He didn't We ended up paying for it Mowbrays team were better to watch.... I suppose though that if your team is successful you look to nit pick But then for me...my favourite manager was Tommy Burns
ST Yous all turned on strachen like rabid dugs on meat, even before hand yous couldny stand him then he loses the league one year and hes a terrible ****ing manager, yadda yadda yadda. It's no even up for debate so why your debating it I'll never understand.
Same deal as with Ally on the other thread, watch neil ( above ) , listen to joy division
No examples then. Thought as much. Four years in the job but "we turned on him" Logic's taken a big hit this morning.
As far as I remember it, a lot of the support turned against WGS. Saying he was not "Celtic minded" and other such ****e. It was discussed at great length on the footie forums of the time. As well as in boozers I frequented at the time. #justsayin
Turning on a manager is what you lot did to PLG. Strachan was in the job for FOUR years and still talks about his great relationship with the Celtic fans. Why am I even arguing with you pair of ****wits?
Your sanity's taken a bit of a hit this morning. I could provide legal depositions from 50,000 Celtic fans and you'd still argue the toss.
Turning on PLG for being a **** manager - Admitted. Turning on GS for being a decent manager - Denied. What a **** you are.
So that's why he was forced out after four years even though he said he would leave after four years. It's because "we turned" on him. I must have missed the banners and the protests etc. Oh wait, that's because it didn't happen. It only happened in the fervoured imaginings of the FF crowd and Tarquin. I'm pyoor beelin' about how Strachan was forced out so I am
But you can't provide one scrap of evidence of the Celtic fans "turning on Strachan" can you Squiggy?
