Should Marv get the number 10 shirt next season?

There could be arguments made for Marveaux and Gouffran proving themselves as more effective players than Ben Arfa – dare I say it!

What I mean is, how much of a team player is Hatem Ben Arfa?
I think he's more of an individual, albeit a superb one at that. When he plays, and yeah when he plays.

He CAN pick the ball up and score on his own from virtually anywhere if in the mood, we've seen it. His best moments for NUFC don't involve anyone else!

However, how much of worker is he or more crucially a provider? Isn't he more the kind of player that demands to be provided?

Marveaux and Gouffran to me are more like players who do more for the COLLECTIVE attacking play (defensively too in Gouff's case). Players who are positively less selfish.

To that effect I'd imagine Cisse would say he'd prefer playing with them supporting him.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ben Arfa's great but I don't think he possesses the awareness beyond himself to be a successful number 10. But Marv's not there yet either!

 

Marvs an excellent player, anyone who disagrees doesn't enjoy elegant football! If I were Pardew he'd be in my 1st XI every week
