.... just like Vardy then? ... Nugent is on premiership wages ... so I agree with Proud ... he's not justifying his wage packet currently by any means ...

    Is this sarcastic?

He earns more in a week than I do in a year... Does anyone "deserve" to earn 30k a week, just for playing football? Regardless of how good they are?

The comment that's the best and sums it all up from a Leicester point of view is, "So Leicester fans would rather have Ince at the helm than Nigel Pearson?" That's brilliant IMO.

Even though I would like to see Pearson sacked and struggling for a job elsewhere, it wouldn't make sense to sack him now. End of the Season is most probably the time for it.

I'm suprised that so many of our fans are willing to write Pearson off as a failure based on two (admittedly atrocious) months of poor results. These same people weren't calling him tactically inept when we were banging them in for fun.

Something has obviously gone very seriously wrong in the last couple of months and it needs rectifying fast but I don't believe Pearson should be sacked for a couple of poor months. By that logic we should have been extending his contact when we were sitting in the top two.

He has had to make massive changes to the playing staff since his return and would need another transfer window to get rid of the rest of the dead wood and fully have 'his team' for the first time. I remember MON saying it takes 4 years to build a team and get promoted to the Prem and I still believe we should afford NP the chance of another season to have a real crack at it. It's only a matter of months since we were revelling in the watching the best football we've played for years and fans are forgetting this due to our horrendous current form.

When you have a tactic that pays dividends like it di in January, then other teams will take note and look how to nullify those tactics. It is about how you adjust or change things when needed. The only way NP has demonstrated he can change things is to play long ball up to Nuge Wood and Kane. That is not adjusting to things but playing into the hands of other teams as we are not winning second ball. Against Millwall, we hardly put 5 passes together, just continued to boot it clear cos we kept 2 up front when we were down to 10. Unfortunately, NP's tactical approach comes crashing to the ground whe Knockaert and Marshall dont perform as they can - and they have both been very poor recently. NP has had the full season to bring in that ball winning midfielder, and he hasnt. FFS - even skint Leeds were able to bring Austin in - he would have been a good fit for us. Before anyone says that our ball winning midfielder is Matty James who has been injured, then Man U fans will say that he is a box to box midfielder with bags of talent in that role. Do we complain when things are going well - course we dont. But if NP cant adjust, then he has had the chance to bring in a tactical coach even if he couldnt get the right player. He hasnt - too egotistical I'm afraid. Sometimes you need to look at yourself and see your weak points (everybody has them), and take the necessary steps by graft or a third party. Cant see NP admitting he has weak points, consequently our Feb/March form.

    Fully agree with this...

...and agree with the gist of this, though lots of assumptions made. Two very good posts.

A good debate on this thread ... and some valuable points made ..

    For me two things -

This run is relegation form ... if Forest or Deby were on this run we would not only be chuckling but perhaps also praying that they don't sack an obviously under performing manager so that we could watch their misery continuing ...

The only reason I have for not wanting to sack Pearson right now is that I fear that would rob us of ANY chance of the play-offs this season ... not because I think he is going to be a great manager in the Premier league going forward - frankly I don't - I agree with a lot of what Barwell says - his inflexibility or just pure lack of tactical nous has been readily exposed during this run ... as it was last season when we came up against Chelsea in the cup - great support, great day out, but frankly made to look like a park team and by Fernando Torres to boot!!! ... same happened during a 5-1 beating at Forest a couple of seasons back - no sign of being able to react and make a difference then, and appears to be no change now ... I can contrast this with the MON days - MON's tactical reactions didn't always work, but you could at least follow his thinking ...

Yes nugents on a lot, but so is the bottom club in league 2s LB, thats just football. Its not his 'fault' that he is on huge wages, obviously you ask for as much as you can get.

But at least he puts in a lot of effort.
