    ok ok leaving the semantics aside and giving my opinion to the OP.

    1. THIS season we should do nothing but play all three in every game.. Once carroll is bothered and working he's improving. It beggers the question why he didn't shift his hold for the first 6 months.

    2. Brings me to point 2. we should be looking to bring in someone up top with more quality again and gerrard is 31 so needs to be thought about long term.

    3. we need more genuine quality to go with those three that can bring enrique and johnson in to the game... sadly that player was alonso and we lost him. if we find another alonso to go with lucas we will be much better off.

    Benega would be my number one choice for a player to play alongside Lucas. Can't really think of anyone else who we could aim for that would be best in that role.
