It's not about giving him "another chance", it's about allowing Massa to beat Alonso and not be stepped on most of the time.
Did anyone notice DC and Brundle's surprise when Massa out-qualified Alonso in Hungary? You would have thought Massa was driving a Virgin, such was there reaction. If you've only out-qualified your team mate once in 11 races, then something needs to be done. Fair enough if you're a rookie, but when you've been in F1 for 9 seasons, you should be considered to have learnt your trade and be putting the results in. I like Massa, I have a lot of respect for the man...but sadly not for the racer.
It's almost as if he's hoping to luck into a situation where Ferrari will have to support him over Alonso. But to do that he needs to beat Alonso, which isn't happening unless he seriously improves.
Simply put with Massa ferrari will struggle to get above 3rd in the constructors regardless of their car. For whatever reason he is not quick enough anymore.
I think if he had a decent car (well the best car really) he could be along side Alonso, the Ferrari hasnt been great over the last 3 seasons and he struggles bad with a bad car. In 2008 the car was in the top 2 of most tracks and he was good. I think most of the gap between him and Alonso is down to Alonso probably being the best with a "bad" car on the grid, not due to Massa's skill level. I think if they were in the Red Bull he would be alot closer.
Oh yes Smithers, I do no doubt that Button could get on well with Alonso. I'm sure he could. In fact I'm sure he could get on with just about anyone. But he is a rather good racing driver too and he fights, even with team-mates; and I don't think that would suit Ferrari or Alonso.
I must have missed something: was someone talking about Schumacher? - In my opinion he barely scrapes into the top 20 - seriously!
Mate this article is about Massa, the more and more you bash Schumacher, the more it seems you yourself have a cataclysmic personal issue with him... nobody brought his name into this thread but you, nobody seems to have a bigger problem with him than you. Back on topic, I feel Massa should move to another team (a fresh start if you will).
Didn't Miggins mention something about someone not being in the top 10 drivers on the F1 grid? I do not know who he was referring to but made the point that there is one guy in a top 4 car who isn't justifying his seat in my opinion. As for the "cataclysmic personal issue": actually, I have to admit there is some truth in what you say!
