You mean rebuild the side like we did with the money we got for Ronaldo?

Seeing as Fergie is building a team around Wayne, I highly doubt SAF would consider selling him.

Personally I think it's good for United and Wayne that they've come out immediately saying these paper reports are rubbish. It's the good/bad thing of the modern Twitter age, rumours spreadlike wildfire, affects betting odds almost instantly. Plus it makes some of these papers and reports look like fools. No doubt this won't stop them spouting rubbish most of the time.

I agree with him me like, for me rooney is over rated, mainly down to his attitude. He has clearly got the capabilities but his attitude stinks and he doesnt show these capabilities often enough. When he was younger he was so hungry and just looked like he loved to play football, loved to fight (not throwing punches) on the pitch, and now he just seems to have lost that, dont no why, but this is my opinion.Used to be a great fan of his. I think if you could sell and get 50+mill i would. Your team has been average (for a man utd team anyways) for a while now, and you could spend the money on buying some good hungry young talent. And before you all start saying, who, who, like you did in previous posts on here, I am not a world scout, but if I had AF managing my club i would have full confidence in him being able to do so. Not wumming just offering my opinion, as I have a friend who is a man utd supporter season ticket holder for 20 odd years, and he thinks the same.

I think you fellas are forgetting 1 very important fact here

    who would buy rooney?

The only team I can think of is Man City and they only to show UTD up. Even there balottelli and dzeko would be ahead of him

I think SAF tried to build the team around roo and has basically failed, as roo is getting progressively worse

What we need more than midfielders at the moment is strikers who can score goals

Bar the newcastle game UTD have been creating chances, just not putting them away

remember the days of 'you score 2, we will score 3'? that is how we are playing but missing chances and easy ones if you look at the sitters roo has missed

for me rooney has to go, unfortunately no one wants him or will pay his over inflated wages for a wasted talent who over time will become mediocre

As they say "there is no smoke without fire." Obviously something has happened to spark these rumours. i wouldn't cash in though. He's your best player, selling him would be a huge mistake.

PS. Goetze is ours, leave him alone.

    If only kyle

He hasnt been our best player for a few seasons now

It just some buy into all the media hype

I personally have seen him progressively worsen, odd bit of magic (overhead kick) but most of the goals against us stem from him giving the ball away easily

At the moment would he be in the top 5 in the EPL for strikers? dare I say top 10?

Well who is your best player? And don't say Nani because that's just laughable.

I think nani is better than rooney tbh. Just needs to be played in the position he does for Portugal and given the freedom of rooney. For me he has been the key in our victories

You can see the role VDS played for us now he has gone, same with vidic. And i knw I will get laughed at for this but michael carrick has been a key for us this season
as has welbeck when he has played.

Ando was starting to kick off but injury took over (again <grr>)

I personally think we need stikers who can put the ball in the net. The chances are there

you can laugh all you like pal.

what you have to remember is city dont need a striker dropping back etc they have a brilliant midfield. All they need is someone tucking it away

have you seen the chances rooney has missed recently?

In the words of Arry, his mum could have put them away
