I don't think the fans made any difference to this deal. Money and ambition talk. Would you leave Barcelona cos the fans got on your back? I do agree Saints fans are very good, by and large. This is not the fortress Dell era. We don't offer up the best football at home!
Come on Guys think about this.......a player knows when he has made a mistake and tends to make worse mistakes when trying to undo the one he's made. Surely without question all of us has done that at some time. Yes Vesty did improve when the fans weren't around but that could have been coaching and not because we weren't there. He's continued to do ok amongst the few that have managed to get to games recently and other teams don't waste money on total rubbish. (except us maybe ) No, I don't think there's any chance he went because of fans getting on his back. Your way wrong there!!
@Velcro Roy called it right tbh; a win today changes everything. And for some odd reason, I'm strangely optimistic (of at least a point, anyway). I had more trouble trying to keep the snails and slugs out of the allotment this year, than an injury ravaged Saints had, trying to keep Utd away from our goal.
FFS he’s a grown man and a professional athlete. I’m sure the fans do have some impact but not as much as we would like to think. He may have improved because he has had a long time to work with Ralph and the team, rather than assuming it’s because we were mean to him. I personally don’t get on players backs because I generally feel people try their best and if they fail it’s usually lack of ability. But I stand by the right of fans to give positive and negative feedback. This is a spectator sport after all.
