45k a week for 2 goals a season (let's face it, we are never getting another 7 penalties) is even worse than Wickhams demands. Borini, for me, does not score many goals from open play. Wickham gets assists also from Giaccherini. I rate Wickham and would like him playing up top. We'll have to take the tribunal fee and be done if he won't sign.
A few things here...Firstly the article is from the Daily Mail for Christ's sake, so has probably been taken from a comment from Joe Bloggs on the SMB forum...Secondly, Wickham really needs to be played in his correct position with an attack minded as he was at the back end of last season. Thirdly, he needs our support when he pulls on the top, just like all the rest of the players, as to get on their backs would undoubtedly be detrimental to the whole club..
Play him up front with Fletch just behind and then sell both in January along with the other two useless planks and get some fresh faces in.
I think Connors agent will agree terms for him to the highest bidder when he can speak in January, as Marcus said we will get something from a tribunal. 4 years @ £40k is 8 million quid, he's set for life if he leaves us. This plus signing on fees etc, who would blame him. His head can't be in a great place at the minute and it will affect his performances for us if he knows his future is elsewhere.
7 goals in 51 games!? I won't lose any sleep if he goes. Thankyou fat head Bruce for throwing 8.5m away when we needed an experienced Prem striker to replace Bent.
Historically he was supposed to being "looked at" by the top clubs but none followed through which should have told us something. Has undoubted ability but cannot seem to channel it for the benefit of the team and eventually himself.
Almost this. He has a few good attributes, sadly none of them will ever make him a top striker. £6million we were offered, and we should have snaffled that. I dunno what people see in the lad, cos he scored a rush of goals at the end of the season. 10 in 60 including 2 2's means he has scored in 8 of 60. And he's a ****ing ****er. Get rid.
Mate, I think he's a half decent Championship player who bagged a few goals against tiring teams at the end of the season. Some would have you believe he's Benzema & Higuain with the feet of Suarez and the touch of Messi. Everyone says 'he needs to be played here, he needs to do this'. Players of genuine quality influence games, the lad has been absolute ****e bar Stoke, and even that day Fletch was better all round. The only fling I cling to with him is he & Giacc do seem to have an understanding on the park, but maybe that's just cos Giacc is an ACTUAL good player.
Isn't his dad his agent? Probably thinks sonny boy deserves CL playing time. The fact is that he has a lot of potential. He can deliver, he just doesn't do it very often. If his head's not on straight he won't deliver at all, so drop him for a few games and see what reaction we get. If he sulks, he can bugger off. If he gets his head down, consider keeping (but not at any cost).
Does the tribunal fee still apply if he goes abroad? - I am sure I read somewhere that it only applies if the player stays in this country does anyone know the gen on this? Edit: Found this regarding Tom Ince's potential move to Inter; Even though Ince is now out of contract his fee should he move to the Premier League will be set by a tribunal as he is under 23, unless an agreement is reached between Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston and the buying club. Swansea, Stoke, Sunderland, Hull and Newcastle are among the teams to have registered an interest but will want to pay less than the an estimated £8million tribunal figure based on the £1.5m fee Crystal Palace paid Blackpool to take Ince on loan for the second half of last season. Had Ince moved abroad the compensation to Blackpool would have been just £155,000.
