Grant had those three good wins before he was replaced but he knew what was coming. Shota was always coming in. Maybe he felt a bit more relaxed when the inevitable was coming but some of his interviews after Christmas were awful. In truth there won’t be much to chose between Shota and Grants records but Grant did not have the players that Shota has. Personally I don’t think our players are as bad as everyone is making out. Some need taking out and resting and others need a kick up the arse. That’s what the manger is for.

Yeah that Blackburn game on the day of the takeover we were absolutely brilliant. Followed up by the performance at Bournemouth it seemed as if not only the club was freed from Allam but also Grant. His demeanour in interviews had entirely transformed
If we’d been 5 down at half time at Bournemouth we couldn’t have complained. I spoke to a player not at the club now about Slutsky, he said he did no work at all with them defensively. I feel Shota dies the same.

So has he actually resigned or just crazy rumours? Read somewhere Kesler accepted his resignation yesterday.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting the players are bad, quite the opposite, that is the point.

The manager has more than adequate tools for the job.

There has been lots of suggestions on the threads about the skill levels of certain players. I don’t think these are bad players but wether Shota has all the tools he needs is a bit of a stretch. As I said I still think we are short of a proper combative midfield captain type and I would like to see another centre half.

Scott Parker’s Bournemouth remain the only team to stop Erling Haaland scoring during the competitive games this season.

That was by chance not by design. Foden could have squared to him for an easy tap in but selfishly took the shot on.

Talk to Fulham or Bournemouth supporters both hated his time at their clubs. If Acun wants an exciting brand of manager, he'd be best to stay away from Parker.

Parker and Dyche etc are not happening. Not only because of the drop but because both have suffered as a result of under investment and inability to dictate the future of their squads. Neither would work with Acun’s rather hands on approach.

Coreberan makes a lot of sense, particularly the rumoured change in heart from the weekend that we may see tomorrow.

Yalcin makes the most sense due to links with Acun. Pretty certain he was linked in the brief period between McCann going and Shota being appointed?

Yeah, I think Parker’s reputation is inflated beyond what he’s actually at. Don’t particularly agree that his Bournemouth side were dead certs for promotion last season but certainly up there.

His championship record at Fulham really was poor though considering the resources he had. Similar levels to what Silva had last season and he blew the division away.

He plays a pretty dire system too. Slow paced possession football, can’t coach attacking patterns of play and relies heavily on individual quality
