Poyet & Taricco aren’t going to leave Bordeaux for us. It’ll be a shame if an old manager like hoddle or Pardew get it. It’s depressing to think actually and they have no magic wand. Burley interview conjures a wave of nostalgia but he said nothing we haven’t said ourselves here; get back to the Ipswich way and even if we do no better at least we tried to do it our way. On the current list it seems Mowbray Steijn or Hurst are the best options. I can’t see McClaren working for us.
Was a massive no from me until I saw his win %%%. Check in on Wiki..... Played superb stuff at Brentford, we'd give him time unlike at Forest where he was still over 40% - why not. Much rather him than say - Hoddle / Sherwood / Pardew / McLaren - people for a variety of reasons I'd be petrified if appointed. Mowbray I'm very 5050 with but would give a go. I find him dull as hell to be honest - not remotely inspriring but a club legend / done some bang average jobs however has Blackburn doing well. Not sure why Tony would trade Blackburn in - where he may well get a bit of ££££ - for us where he'd have a good chance of ruining his reputation. Apparently we've talked to him x 2 about the job - I don't see why we would for a 3rd time? Two for me I REALLY want= Hirst of Shrewsbury / Clarke of Bristol Rovers. Clarke won't happen due to contract, Hirst I think is very gettable and has a superb win %%%%. Operating on a tiny budget and clearly worth a shot at this level. Stein =know very little about however a massive gamble in my eyes. Not saying it wouldn't work - just saying a gamble and a decent first say 12 games very important.
I want Lampard, talks shed loads of sense and not a foul mouthed twot like McCarthy! Yeah its a risk but......cant be any worse and will be more forward thinking than the likes of Pardew!
Will give up if its..... Pardew Mclaren Butcher Mogga Burley Warbs and any other manager over 50, we need someone that aint been there and done it and is now looking to see out their time in a cushy hassle free job. We need someone with fresh ideas and shed loads of drive!
I kind of agree, think we should find a younger ambitious manager. If it all goes tits up we can get someone like McCarthy again to save us from relegation Got a feeling it will be someone previously connected at the club in an attempt to unite everyone.
Lampard would be a massively interesting one - he does seem to speak a lot of sense / like the way he conducts himself. Surely someone will take a punt.... Spanish I think football wise you'd certainly like Warb!? Played some of the best stuff in the league at Brentford before.
If I was a betting man, I think it would be either McLaren OR Warb. Just a feeling it'll be either. Both play superb attacking footy. McLaren loses the plot / is a melt and requires a mega budget..... Does have contacts though!
I reckon ME will drag this out til the end of the season, and see whether Blackburn get promoted or not, as i reckon he'd want Mowbray. But, seeing as they will go up, the banker to be our next new boss will be McLaren
I don't think the Mowbray link has any substance whatsoever and I feel it's lazy journalism. Apparently we've been in talks with him twice before and it's not happened for whatever reason so maybe like Fergy with Gazza / Shearer - twice bitten, third time not an option? I donno just a hunch. Be new though!
I think his reign, over time will be looked back on more favourably across the board as soon as he leaves / the future than how it's viewed as now. Clear as day the ' relationship ' is... HMMM. Even I have a lot of time for Mick however am at a total loss as to what Evans is playing at keeping him here. Utterly pointless. We've wasted ££££ on Cameron Stewart / loads of others before. Just waste a bit more ( we're good at this ) and get rid A S A P please. We / he need to move forwards.

A very interesting (and positive) soundbite from that article that I couldn't have put better myself. "I don’t like it when I see managers constantly saying ‘we need to buy better players’. For me, the most important thing in my job is to make the players you have better players and to make a team.” I have lost count the amount of times I have said this, or something similar. It seems to be a huge issue across the game as managers/Coaches don't have the patience or inclination to focus on improving what they have.
Living in the midlands I know plenty of Forest fans so have heard plenty of reviews on is time there, The issue they had was that he was adamant on getting them playing from the back and wanting everyone comfortable on the ball, which clearly takes time (particularly if you don't have the personnel) and naturally they made plenty of mistakes and were incredibly hot & cold, sometimes knocking it around nicely one week and then unable to string passes together the next. One story that sticks with me was the recurring comments of how they would pass it around at the back, but would end up simply lumping it straight of play because there were at least 2 who were hopeless in possession (sound familiar?) and the fact that everyone was aware that and were all wincing in the stands in preparation for what was inevitably about to happen, but still it happened week after week, which would likely be the case here as we wouldn't be able to suddenly make Jonas or Chambo cultured defenders and we wouldn't be able to sign anyone better
As highly paid athletes (with ambition to play at international level,in the case of Knudsen) you would think they had the potential to develope beyond their current pub league standard! Obviously I'm not expecting Chambo to turn into Bobby Moore but fer f'sake he shouldn't need to default to hoofing whenever he gets the ball.
These two lines popped out at me when I read it “What club I go to depends on what sort of plans they have for the future. When I came to Venlo they had a very clear plan. “For me it will be important to go to a club that will let me work my way.” I'm sure Marcus can convince Maurice about the plans for the future, they won't actually become reality but I reckon ME can be convincing enough to blag it. The second bit is also not a problem, if it's one thing the manager of ITFC can count on it's that he won't have people from above messing about in first team affairs.
After last nights revelation I expected even more silence from our noble leader... But he has come out with a statement that we shouldn't expect a new to be appointed before the end of the season https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/33529/evans-new-manager-unlikely-before-end-of-season That would (to a large extent) rule out the likes of Warburton, McClaren & Pardew along with those already out of work and suggest we are waiting for someone to see the season out, or simply trying to see who will be available after the season is finished and pick from who is available (and interested) then
