Obviously I can't go back over every game, and I can't remember every game, but the ones off the top of my head are Liverpool and QPR away.

Look at this video, Gibbs is the player who is attracted to the middle of the pitch in the first touch of a Liverpool player we see, so he has already left a huge amount of space for Henderson to run into, and then he finally get back and doesn't even bother to close Henderson down. Granted, Vermaelen is nowhere to be seen either, making it harder, but both are as bad as each other.

I can't find a video of the QPR highlights, but I remember him and Vermaelen being at fault again.

I remember that as well, the West Brom player wouldn't have gotten into that position in the first place had Gibbs not been playing so narrowly, he was practically in a CB position.

Gibbs has improved but has been hampered by injury. Santos was statistically Arsenal's best defender prior to his injury last season. I'm not sure about after he came back.

Santos, if he can control his wandering somewhat, has the easy potential to be a fantastic LB. Gibbs is on the cusp of being 1st team Premiership material as well. The competition should spur them both on. IF (and it's a BIG IF) there is more defensive coaching and tactics at Arsenal next season, I think they'll both prove just how good they are. LB is one position Arsenal do not need to strengthen.

LB is fine, we need midfielders of M'Vila/Ganso/Afellay quality

I think LB is our weakest position on the field.

Gibbs was thought of as a future England LB before his awful run of injuries.Let hope the lad can stay injury free this season

lol the way Vermaelen congratulates Gibbs on that tackle was funny, giving him a nice shove. I remember the worst feeling came over me when the WB player was on goal, my Arsenal life flashed before my eyes, everything was collapsing in those few seconds, and then that tackle came in.

Do you look at other teams squads or just remember players?

Playing LB will allow him to use his attacking tenancies to better effect

If they attack too much in this position why would it allow verm more freedom to attack?
