I can't imagine Shola would be able to bring himself to score against us.

Even if he wanted to he wouldn't know how to.

But if he got close, I have confidence in BRS taking him out with a sniper rifle first.

Tactically he's a useful player in the system where you play a lone striker. As he's got older, he has learnt how to hold the ball up better, but he's still poor.

He simply does not score enough goals. If Pardew and Pulis both want him, it's certainly not for his goal-scoring ability.

Shola is many things and we all have digs at him at one time or another.

Crap being one, lazy at times perhaps!!
But another thing he is and that is being better than Rivière and Ferraya put together.
At least Shola would cost some club, bugger all other than wages, whereas we paid something like £6m for Rivière + wages.

We may as well have kept him for another season, it's not as if he'd be blocking up a squad place, is it?

Bring Back Shola. <laugh>

I will enjoy another set of fans having to endure the ****ness of him. I can't wait till Palace fans see true abominable bottom feeding bollocks at its most base and vile form.

Don't agree that Rivière has no value. He has had little opportunity and when he has played has IMHO shown flashes of skill and class. He is more of a physical presence than Perez and may do well playing along side him more often. I for one had not written him off at all, just think he needs more game time and that all elusive goal to kick start his career.

I really hope you're right about Riviere and he does start to make some impact. <ok>

I'm with you Heed, I think we have signed yet another duffer. That lad will never score goals on the evidence so far. His hold play is not that bad, but every time he gets into goalscoring positions I'm just not convinced. His technique is all wrong. The one ball he did strike cleanly and the defender makes a blinding save <laugh>

Hope he turns it round but I just can't see it. He'd maybe be ok in a 352 or 442 with a natural goalscorer, as his hold up play is ok and he knows how to run the channels. But woe betide any manager reverting to 442 given the stick Pardew got for employing such "archaic" formations.

Ameobi to Palace?

I'm suddenly very pleased that Pardew was blocked from making transfer decisions whilst with us (Obertan and Elliott aside). Palace can collect his dross instead.
