His performances have been dire for the last few games and before that even.

Ryan Taylor & Shola Ameobi have produced most assists in the PL for NUFC - 3 #nufc

At least he is doing something right. Now he just needs to stop falling over, run, and score some goals.

To be honest, at least Smith attempts to do something when he's on the pitch. Plus the fact him and ranger will probably be gone by the summer means I don't really care about them. Shola on the other hand will always be here<doh>

Expect Monday's Evening Chronicle to run the usual " I'm a 20 goal a year guy if I get a run in the team" Shola interview.<doh>

Just copying my own comment from the other thread as this looks like the main one:

We need to realise he absolutely can not play as a lone striker. With a good partner he can put in a passable performance but his hold up play and work rate is absolutely dire and we need to give Best a shot with Obertan/Lovenkrands/Ben Arfa up front. It's also quite apparent that he only seems to perform when we dont really need him (earlier in the season he played well, but we had Ba, Best and Ben Arfa all fit), but is not reliable when we actually need him (last two games we have relied on him and got **** all back). I think he must handle pressure terribly.

Come on now, you expect him to learn how to do three new things?

Cabaye has surely got more than 3?

Hmmm, oh well. It just shows you that you can't judge creativity on assists, Cabaye has definitely played a part in far more than only 2 of our goals that he hasn't scored himself.

God we need to drop Shola. He only looks good when Ba is along side him...Come to think about it, I'd look pretty good if I was playing up front with Ba!

Shola is so ****ing dire man it's unbelievable. He's a striker, a forward, and he's scored 1 goal in 14 apps! I think 1 in 4 strikers are crap, Shola is 1 in 14.

The guy is in ****ing mental land he really is. To even hint that he's capable of competing for a starting spot over Ba or Cisse, he just makes himself look like a clown. I'd respect him more if he just admitted that he understands that these two players are by far the better choice for the club, but he will be there as back-up if he's ever needed.

Doesn't mean he's played created more goals really. Cabaye only has two assists, but we all know fine well that's been a part in more of our goals like that.

His passing starts so many moves. Shola is still ****. Credit to him for some decent flick ons but still, he's ****.

Best has created far more chances than Shola, but the players couldn't take them, not Best's fault.

Assists really just mean who got the 2nd last touch before the goal was scored. Don't take it too seriously.

Just surprised at the lack of assists from other players if 3 is the highest!

Jonas Gutierrez is now the top chance creator from open play in the PL at NUFC - 19 he's managed, 1 more than Obertan #nufc

Obertan has created our 2nd more chances! This **** just gets weirder and weirder.

This! Cabaye may only have 2 assists, but you looked back at home many goals he's been part of, it would be in the double figures I reckon. So many key passes are from him.
