    I have a similar idea blackcats steve to your idea about Amoebi. Just buy that bloke from west brom who scored 4 versus the sobbers last season/ newcastle 1 sunderland 9 (declared after 72 minutes)

    ...though they'll probs argue that finishing 1 pt above us negates this and the 5-1 and their regular inferiority, of course.

    just like to say, for the sake of yourself and any other mackems reading this, that you are ALL quick to say that "5-1 means nothing coz we finished higher in the league"

    well that means that NONE of you that say that have ANY right to brag about the century old result as newcastle WON the league that season. (that means we finished higher than your lot for the ones with little brain power) ;)

    Good to see somebody from Sunderland is at least talking about recent times. Makes a nice change from the scores of 9-1 comments that seem to float around every time the 5 or 4 - 1 matches are brought up.

    Correct and fair play. Last two knocks from Mackems have been about a game that happened when I was 6 (and I think I'm a fairly oldie on this board) and the other from days when footie was what cricketers played when they were bored in the winter. Its nice to see a recent and relevant comment.

    Bring on 2011-12!

    It tends to be the younger posters that bring up the 1 - 9 or the Gary Rowell hat trick at SJP. No disrespect to Sunderland and all that but any Sunderland supporter under the age of about 25 will have more bad memories of the rivalry than good, and they need something to brag about.
