I have got to say that was the most boring game i have watched in a long time ... hard to get us fans going on performances like that. I think with the way we have been at home this season the crowd come expecting a poor game so are not motivated to perfrom well. Maybe this affects the players performance. Either way the crowd are either going to have to try get the players going or the other way round.
I think I actually fell asleep at one point, seriously. Only for 2/3 seconds, but it's still not a good sign.
Fact is that there has hardly been a game at KC this season that has been exciting. If the players dont score goals then the crowd dont get uplifted. Goals excite people but they have been in short supply at home this season and until we start to score and play with some fire then the ground will remain like a bloody morgue, its as simple as that.
have a home and away set up formation wise. Simples. However as we found out at home to Cardiff 4-3-3 is not for us.
How about either (a) have some bogus reason to close the KC for the rest of the season and play all our remaining games away or at a neutral ground or (b) close all the stands except the North, limit attendance to supporters that attend away games, drive the team around in the coach for a couple hours blindfolded so they are disorientated, use the away dressing room -- in other words con them into thinking they are playing away from home.
This is the major stumbling point for us this season, OK some fans are a bit reserved but the KC is a different place when the fans are behind the team. The Premiership has killed the home support, every other man is a TWF-type glory fan in my opinion it seems, they don't know about how to back the team when we aren't doing well. How many points have we lost due to a flat atmosphere at home? Got to be enough to make a difference for the play-offs.
Wow, congratulations on mentioning me unneccessarily for the 1000th time. Seriously, bravo on that. As for your post, it's complete and utter bollocks, we've lost points at home because of ****e tactics, giving away our best players and the team just not giving a ****. Fans thinking they actually make a difference is akin to kids thinking they drive the Postman Pat vans they have outside supermarkets. Y'know, they don't but it makes them feel better if you let them think they are. So, carry on the support buddy! The team needs you!
The crowd can have a massive affect on games, I can't believe anyone who regularly watches live football would suggest otherwise.
The crowd doesn't pick the team or the tactics, they can't even get one player dropped. I find it hard to believe that grown adults think they're having an effect on the game by shouting "Yorkshire, Yorkshire" or calling the opposing fans ****ers.
You've made yourself look a ninny again TWF. I spoke to Steve Walsh after the game on Saturday and mentioned the appalling treatment of Harper and asked him if Harper was aware of the jeering( bit of a stupid question really) .I was told he is very aware of the treatment he is receiving. He also told me that all the booing and negativity really gets to some players but hey TWF you know best.
If he played well he wouldn't get such treatment. Thus the team has much more of an effect on the crowd.
At away games, when we make a lot of noise, you can see the players visibly lifted by the support and there's a marked increase in the urgency of their play. The difference is significant and tangible, if we could replicate that at home, we would have seen better performances at the KC this season. I accept the chicken and egg argument, it's easier to cheer if you have something to cheer about, but to suggest that support has no effect on the team is patently ludicrous.
TWF - if the football's too boring for you at the KC why not go and watch soemone like Rotherham United for example?
