Too right Diddy, too right! We didn't have that last season, it's one of the joys of football. I think Bruce might fancy it too, what with the big German lad on his radar. Just need a winger to put it on a plate for him all season.
Since Bruce has come out and said that Heskey hasn't been approached, and we are apparently going for the German lad Procshwitz (if that's how you spell it?), does that mean Heskey definitely isn't coming. Or Heskey is coming but either Simpson or McLean are going? Hmm...
Well spotted. Yes Tom not Ton. Thats what happens with the m and n keys next to each other and you dont read it back ? But i agree with what you say. Steve Agnew was a quality player in his day and TOM C. is indeed a quality player himself. Last season we saw TC being wheened off the Bullard situation so with proper coaching TC can be a massive cog in the midfield.
That's generally what happens when you play a diamond, the width is provided by the full backs. I made the suggestion on another thread that we could be going that way because we only have 1 winger on the books compared to about 8 central midfielders signed/linked. It would also mean Dudgeon would be more likely to feature on a regular basis this season as Dawson doesn't have the pace to attack and defend. Could start with Dudgeon, get the game won and then bring on Dawson to offer some experiance in closing games out at the end. Specifics re McKenna at the base was more me working with the existing players on a way to get Cairney into the midfield.
Maybe Steve Bruce will adopt the Spanish system of 1 - 4 - 6 and no strikers except on the bench. Now that would be interesting to watch even in a pre-season game.!!
Sadly yes. We were crap, hence why I was ecstatic when barmby got the boot, buts that's another (well trodden) thread...
