That Harry Redknapp is not a bad manager...wouldn't mind seeing him at the Lane...

Redknapp wins promotion and bale wins the CL, all in the space of about 5 hours.

shows that we are a selling club...so our strategy needs to change......half of the triumphant Real Madrid midfield was the former Spurs Midfield...don't know about anyone else but that seems like a sound foundation to build a team around.

According to today's Torygraph, Levy will make one last check on Ancelotti's availability ( highly unlikely due to CL win, wage demands, etc) and then an official approach for Pochettino. Maybe he could get a rather expensive, but reputedly very talented fellow Argentine that we acquired, to show us what he can do?

Re Modric & Bale. I'm not so sure losing them necessarily makes us a selling club. Yes, we sold them, but to probably the biggest, most prestigious club in the world. They are both world class talents who wanted to win major trophies. Even the most optimistic Spurs fan surely can't see us winning the CL in the near future? The fact is that world class talents want a world stage. We can't provide that.

NowSpain, we should not be so modest.
We are the worlds no 1 selling club that is a fact. Like it or not that is what we have become.
That is how we are seen by others.

If you mean in relation to club's like Real, then yes, we have to accept the fact that we cannot offer anything much to a player in comparison. That doesn't just apply to Spurs. The lure of playing for Real, especially after last night, would be very strong for almost any player.

I understand that...but for some reason..we are selling what we need..lets put Bale and Modric in our team..for the season just gone..we would be fighting for the title....next up Lioris.....it has to stop somewhere...or we will never build a team...just fragments of one..season upon season.

"If you mean in relation to club's like Real, then yes"

    Let's be honest here.
They got Bale because of the summer of La Marca state-sponsored unsettling.
If Bale hadn't thrown a strop at the end, and they had to pay in terms akin to what Spurs
did for Soldado, they would be completely effed.

It is our new philosophy , berby and Carrick were earlier examples.
We have to stop being a "leg up club" as it has failed.

We stopped being a PL "leg up club" some time ago.
If UEFA punished get real Madrid for state-sponsored unsettling, then
that wouldn't be a problem either.

Fair enough. I'll be happy with either, if we can get them.

With the way the top 4 and United are threatening to spend, and the way PSG and other big money clubs across Europe will spend, it's looking like we'll struggle to get a big name in anyway :(

We're going to struggle to get into that top 4, once again.

United will bounce back next season without european football, I'm sure of it.

Liverpool will do well, if they hold on to Suarez

City and Chelsea will ignore any FFP rules and accept any fines thrown at them, as long as they make top 4. - So expect to see more money thrown around by those 2 clubs.

And Arsenal have qualified for the top 4 the last 16 years running.

    That's already 5 clubs!!!

Our only route next season is to win Europa. I know I said I didn't want us in it, but I'll hold my hands up. - We have to be in it if we want to make the CL. I don't think we'll win it, but the premier league is going to be even harder next season IMO and I can't see how we're ever going to make the top 4 when we consider the others around us.

Therefore, if Europa is the one we concentrate on next season, we need a manager who has experience of European football. - Does Poch? If not, it's another reason for us to be considering De Boer instead!!

Atletico showed a selling club can reach the top of the football world--with the right manager. They have been absolutely brilliant this year, combining committed defending, possession, and carefully created chances.

If Arsenal came 4th and we won the EL would we knock them out of the Champions League qualifying spots?

    Because that would be sweeeeeeeet
