Whether Shelvey wants to go or not , I'd sell him ....along with Ayew to raise money .
There is big interest in both which means top money.
Probably sell Eder also although interest will be less for him .
I'd also sell Gomis to raise enough to give him the rest of his money .
All money raised goes to one top striker .
And no Phil , the Jenkins I used to respect , has turned into a bumbling fool for over 2 years now .Some will disagree but we all think what we think don't we .

Right on cue I don't agree at all, Breezy. <laugh> Firstly, you don't have a fire sale when you're in trouble. Secondly, you don't sell players who can get you a goal or two. Shelvey, for all his detractors, has proved he can do it at this level, either through assists or goals. Ayew even more so. Lastly, we are likely to pay well above the odds in a January purchase and I can't see us doing that.

This team is still, I think, the best we've had since promotion but the perennial trouble is a prolific front man that gets minimal chances but takes them. Even Bony took a long time to get going. Gomis isn't the best and is way too slow, but let's be honest what kind of service is he getting? A handful of chances every game. The system we're playing using the players we've got needs a long, hard look. That's what's needed, not losing our assets.

The one thing Ayew and Shelvey have in common is the distract us from our game .
Probably the biggest thing that kept Britton on the bench is Shelvey on the pitch .
Ayew turned our right flank , regardless of how many goals he gets , into a big problem ....both in attack and defence .
Coupled with how sought after they both are and it's a no brainer for me .Not a fire sale in my opinion , just good tactics and business .
Routledge plays more , Britton plays more , Cork plays more , money for a top Striker in the window ..
Gomis is a bit more tedious , when he seems to look depressed and uninterested I want him out , when he shows moments of brilliance I'd rather see him stay and earn his remaining money ....kinda on the fence with Gomis .

Yes I agree completely, and if they can all pull their fingers out and put in solid 'gut busting' shifts for the rest of the season, then I see no problem, other than our chronic striker issue, and for me as much as I love Curtis, he showed his inability to think on his feet with the subs yesterday, mainly because we were desperate to have a winger with pace in Monty. I do not think Gomis is good enough to start, regardless of the service issue to him, and for me only Ayew should lead the line, he's mobile and has good quality goals in him, I'm trying hard to stay positive, but these are good positives in my view............<ok>

PS: Leon Britton at 33 is still without doubt our best DM, and should play every game, he will stir the team on to fight for everything, as he showed on Sunday, the boys a legend...........<cheers>

To right and how wrong was GM to get rid of him far to soon. GM wanted to sell him if I remember rightly.

Well at last some realisation of the front line issue, and if 'Jinx' (Thanks Dai <laugh>) hadn't wasted £13 Million on two duffers in Go-miss, and Eder then we could have had in a proper striker, and would not have been where we are now, the issues this season are more down to 'Jinx' that Monk in my view.............<ok>

He made a big mistake here, and I couldn't believe his stance which left Britton out of pre-season, that and Dyer being allowed to go out on loan, madness which has come back to bite us in the bum, silly boy it's cost him his job...........<ok>

Agreed Phil. Comes to something when a 33 year old who couldn't get a kick is MOM.
