Anybody who doubted his right to play tonight needs to wake up, get their blinkers off and just for once, forget club 'loyalties' and revel in his skill and vision.

I know he's yours now, guys but for all us Addicks there'll always be part of him down The Valley.

  2. Southampton's Ricky Lambert deserved to be involved too IMO

So the Jocks lost. The Paddys got a good germanic hiding and England scored 5 against the second worst team on the FIFA list. Just another night of football!

Thought Shelvey looked alright when he came on, certainly better than the pathetic, no-balls Carrick who sat deep and passed it nowhere for the 60 odd minutes he was on the pitch for - never mind his repeated miss passes! How the **** anyone rates him is anyone's guess. Why we even played a sitting midfielder against San Marino is also baffling.

Before people think it's just because he's from United, I thought Cleverly, Welbeck and Rooney all looked good tonight (would never have given MoM to Welbeck though! Baines or Cleverly for me).

Walker was awful. Again, no idea why people rate him. He's cack. Constantly gave it away and looked awkward against the worst international team in the world, a team full of amateurs.

    5-0 was flattering.

'Confusing cause and effect' fact # 1: England scored twice as many goals when Shelvey was on than when Carrick was on the pitch.

Stay tuned for more irrelevant correlation titbits. <ok>

Thought he was okay tonight, composed and didn't shrink away. Good experience for him.

    Carrick near scored a screamer.

Yeah, Shelvey was decent when on. Can't believe Carrick didn't get a goal, but was more surprised when Welbeck fluffed the follow up. He made up for it later, though. <ok>

What an idiot the guy you quoted is man.

I thought he done alright when he came on, sprayed a few long balls to switch things up though it's hard to gain anything of any note on a player when the opposition is that poor.

Fair enough. He plays best when as an attacking midfield, Gerrard role, in my opinion. Damn boring utd midfield though.

    Anyone see the Wales highlights?

Allen looked class. Bale scored a cracker and took a dive for their penalty.

Let's see if the FIFA members publicly criticise him.
