We can debate whether there situation is justified or not, but their 4 points leave them rock bottom on -8 points, after their 12 point penalty for going into administration. Josh Windass and Jordan Rhodes seem a good front two, and I do hope between them they will get enough goals to lift Sheffield Wednesday out of trouble, but it is a big ask. Not on Saturday though, when I hope Chair, BOS and Dykes will be able to continue to work together to get us the win. It was also encouraging seeing Dieng start last week, and I hope that he'll be given a chance to continue playing and establish himself as the number 1. Others may disagree, and we can discuss below, but I just don't feel 100% confident in Lumley. A win could see us knocking on the door of the playoffs, which would represent a very good start to the season, and be a good confidence boost going into the international break. Team news QPR: R’s manager Mark Warburton has declared his squad fully fit ahead of this weekend’s fixture with Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday: Summer signing Chey Dunkley continues to recover from a broken leg and fellow defender Osaze Urhoghide is nearing a return from a knee injury. Pre-match words QPR manager Mark Warburton: “Sheffield Wednesday have pace and power up top, experience in midfield, physicality at the back and pace on the wings, so they are a very good Championship team.” Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk: “QPR have their threats, they have experienced Championship players and on their day they can be very dangerous, and that is what we are preparing for.” ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Match Preview; So far this year, Sheffield United have drawn 0-0, won 2-0 and lost two 2-0. Careful Dave, you may have some angry Owls on here in a minute!!
My impression is there always lots of goals in games against Owls. And of course winning there to gain promotion. Prior to OBZ day that was a very good recent 'happy QPR' thought. Hope we can put in a good display and even get the win.
Will be an interesting team selection with Bonne signing. Feeling a 3-5-2 coming along, and some high scoring games! Dieng Dickie Masterton Barbet Kakay Carrol Ball Amos BOS Bonne Dykes
I only got to one game I think last season, and of that team I reckon I have only seem Carroll (first time round), BOS and possibly Kakay kick a ball for us.
In the perfect world I would like to see us play 5-3-2 with two wing backs but with the squad we have that would only work with Ryan Manning in the team. Dieng would be in goal. Defenders would be Dickie, Barbet and Masterson. Wing backs Kakay and Manning. Defensive midfielders Ball and Amos/ Cameron and Amos Attacking midfielder Chair Strikers BOS and Dykes
Yep. You had BOS at left wing back, but it's the only way to get him into the 3-5-2, unless he plays up front. In that formation I'd be tempted to play him right wing back, with the Finnish lad as left wing back. ------------------Dieng--------------- -Masterson-Dickie-Barbet- BOS---------------------Hymalian -------------Ball---Carroll---------- ------------------Chair---------------- ---------Dykes---------Bonne-----
They wouldn't be too isolated because we'd have 5 in midfield without the ball. Maybe Cameron with Ball as a more defensive option. Just don't rate Amos.
I've being saying for a while I'd like BOS to have a go at WB, so I like this team! My biggest doubt about it is Chair, I dont think he is good enough yet anyway. Not sure who would be best in that position behind the strikers with who we have now, maybe Carroll. Though if we wants to press SW, he may play Amos there again. Kakay for Masterson and Manning for Nico too, if he can come in from the cold.
