First half summary... Not quite at the races so far. Too many passes slightly overhit or underhit. Bounce of the ball not quite going for us and we seem to be playing much more conservative than we have done recently. Saying that, we've had quite a few half chances and some solid ones too with Rutter spurning 3 of them alone. We're not a million miles away from creating lots of chances. The goal just before half time was a great time to score but on the whole Wednesday will feel like they are unlucky to be behind.
please don't sit back on this go for the jugular, they won't come back from 2 down .....in fact i can't see so far how they have been on a good run
They can shuffle the pack in the 2nd half, Rohl has kept some of his starters on the bench who can come on. Rutter has come into it the last 10 minutes but Willy and Jimmy are too slow. They're putting a foot on the ball when they should be quick passing and moving. Let's move these lumbering defenders about, force them to turn.
Credit where its due, that was a fantastic cross. I'll let someone else talk about his defensive efforts so far tonight. I'll just get accused of having an agenda against him.
While we’re at it, can I say good save from meslier for reacting quickly and spreading himself for their big chance.
not pretty but Wendies formation has made it that way. to be fair they have frustrated us and can feel very unlucky to be behind. difference now is Wendies have to change their formation if they want something out this game now. the plan worked very well but its just caved in. They will have to be a bit more braver 2nd half which will surely leave us plenty more space to attack at.
Players I would replace Summerville just walking about Rutter thinks he’s better than what he is Bamford for Joseph James for Gnonto and Roberts for Gray
Honestly, I think they've been poor. We haven't been great, I think we've been a yard slower than them and our passing has been sloppy but they haven't really troubled us apart from once. Ugbo is bang in form but has hardly had a sniff. I think they're missing agent Poveda for the creativity. I think James would rip these up.
At 1-0 they're going to have to push forward in the second half. Hope that James comes on soon as he could exploit the space with his speed.
