Indeed but haven’t tested their keeper yet Miles better than the first 45 v Hull but our finishing is just second rate
Pathetic and weak 2nd half performance Thank god the WC will save us from having to watch that bunch for a month.
I don't understand it. Did we not think that the Blades would step it up once they saw how toothless we were in the first half. It seems in the second period we tried to repeat the first half. Can't score goals and struggling to manage games. Feeling very negative this evening.
No Clingo. Predicted a draw but expected s loss. Spent the afternoon at a beach called Dunas Douradas. Temperature mid 70's, swam twice in the Atlantic, flattened once by a breaker. Just had dinner in a beach restaurant, fresh sea bass filleted and a couple of beers. Heaven!!!
Very quiet on this thread this morning - why am I not surprised after that lot? What a frustrating game. If anything, I'd prefer an indifferent first half and then come out and show some character in the second. In all honesty that first half should have brought us at least a couple of goals, maybe even 3 or 4, but such abject finishing meant we walked off empty handed. That should have been the signal for Huds and Co to steam in with the hair dryer and shake it up, not pat them on the back and say more of the same please. It's the same as on the touchline, this shower at the helm have no half time motivational skills whatsoever - it's all theory and no blood and guts. We knew Hecks would change things at HT and bringing on McAtee for the start if the second was very positive. What did we actually get coming out for the second half from our lot? The same players that finished the first with no positive re-direction. The changes that were made were far too late, and FFS, what is it about Ojo that does it for Hudson? He is absolute rubbish and has been all season - stick him in the bin with Sawyers. Colwill was not the right replacement for Harris. Etete hasn't had a decent chance yet and was an option - he certainly would have changed the dynamics of the side. After such a decent first half performance without the goals, at half time I had a feeling the final result was inevitable under this management - and it was.
Believe it or not clingo, I hadn't read that previous post of yours before I posted. Sorry pal - you had what I said in a nutshell.
I’d all been resigned to hibernation from this site until the resumption but hey ho habits are hard to break. We should have been out of sight on 45 minutes but again poor finishing and then a defensive howler consigned us to yet another home defeat. As I see it as concisely as I can on yesterday’s team this season to date: GK - As good as anyone in the division & a better passer than most outfield players. FBs - Romeo a bit suspect on the ball but good at getting forward. NK a total enigma and defensive nightmare. Collins a big miss. CD - Kipre a class act. Ng is good, and would be even better if he was 3-4 inches taller. Simpson appears a dud. Nelson is just woeful. CM - Wintle a cut above. Ralls a cart horse. Sang worth persevering with; adds energy. Rhino a cart horse. The CM unit as a whole is desperately average, lacking pace and forward drive. WM - O’D average but can’t beat a man. Ojo can’t control a ball and has no composure. Whyte adds nothing. Colwill is not a winger and needs to play no 10 role. Fs - If Robinson could finish he’d be a £10m player but he’s not. Harris is Div3 standard at best; holds it up well but lacks that quality needed in and around the area. Others - Sawyers is a total passenger. Philogene has the skill factor and was missed this past week. Etete should go on loan. Watters plainly isn’t up to it. Isaac Davies is a big miss for his energy. If Whyte has been on bench why not Tanner for a 15 minute burst? Bagan not given a chance either? Denham likewise? Management- Hudson is not a manager. The coaching staff needs beefing up. Other points - why are so bad at crossing either from in play or dead balls? Why are we so bad at keeping possession from throw ins? Why are we so careless in conceding possession and have some players who can’t do the basics? Overall I’m optimistic we can survive this season, but whatever league we’re in next season Tan has to look outside the club for a manager and invest in off field football acumen.
No need for apologies. I wasn't calling you out but backing up my agreement of what you said. In fact, I'm glad you could put more meat on the bones. There's no question that we should have been 3 or 4 up at halftime but I fear that even if we had netted, I don't think Hudson would have gone for a second. Instead, probably the call would be to defend the one goal lead for 75 minutes or whatever. Lovely man but uninspiring and tactically inept I'm afraid.
