Another day Ralls scores, Wickham’s shot goes in, we put it onto touch from a corner so Doyle doesn’t get a second chance to cross, McGuiness kicks it to touch and Rhinamota doesn’t give away a corner but on this day the opposite happens and unjustly Sheff U win 4-1. I thought we were unfortunate not get something from that. Another day (how often have we said that ) it could have been a point or even all three despite they were clearly the better footballing team. We shot ourselves in the foot again. Unfortunate we have to play both the 2 automatic promotion teams away amongst our last half dozen fixtures. I realise we'd have had to play both games at some time, but we could do without having them during this crucial run in. If we get out of today in the same league position, viz outside the bottom 3, reckon we'll still have it in our own hands.
After starting brightly we just fell away. Confidence sadly lacking after their second went in. An inability to string more than a couple of passes together. So often giving the ball away, passing to nowhere or out of play. Best start looking at AA Route Planner for next season. Once you start letting Sheffield dominate and string passes together you are in trouble.
Should have gone in half time 2-1 up - Ralls failure to score when clean in on their keeper was dreadful. I know Ralls is no striker but compare that with Ndiaye's finish when in a one v one against Allsop.
The startling point about that was Ralls was where he was but it was as you say a dreadful effort. Easier to score than miss
