Yes, a bad example, but I expected more fight from us going into the 2nd half only 1-0 down. 3 years ago at Reading when Ephraim was red carded at 0-0, we fought all the way and were rewarded with a 1-0 victory that was was fantastic to watch - at that point I knew we were promoted.
That was one of the poorest performances yet from us. Ok we had 10 men, but you expect a bit of fight with teammates working hard for each other - we didn't get that. The commentator said it right, we have no movement, and no energy in our play and are not a team like for example Wigan. Whilst that dozy ref ruined any chance we had in that game - the performance from the team was not good enough. Everyone just wandered around the pitch going through the motions. After 3 good games with decent performances we then go and do that.
Very good point - exactly what I was thinking earlier. We fought for everything that season, no matter the situation. This year that fight is non existent.
I think we need to accept that another year in the Championship beckons, and that it will give a new man the chance to have another massive clear out. Redknapp is yesterdays man. If we do go up via the play offs and he stays next season I'd really be worried. He could do permanent damage to the club if he's allowed to sign players like some he has this year.
on bbc website: QPR assistant manager Kevin Bond: "The issue is what has happened after we went down to 10 men - and we have spoken about it in the dressing room. "There was a sense of inevitably about how the game was going to go. It wasn't the reaction we were looking for. We are all as a group hugely disappointed with what went on after the red card. "It would be lovely to get promoted automatically but I accept it's a tall order."
exactly what I wrote in another thread, some idiot will probably say I want us to lose. edit, he did, I wasnt left disappointed.
On tonight's performance, it's better we don't get promotion and rebuild the team over the next two years in the Championship under a new manager. I also think looking at the performances, Hoilett and Zamora both picked up injuries. Only four players worthy of wearing the jersey tonight: Hill, Joey, Suk-Yun & Ned; the rest were uninterested and just going through the motions
I understand your frustration, but don't forget that we started the game with arguably 7 first choice players missing ( Green, Simpson, Faurlin, Phillips, Traore, Jenas, Austin. You could add BAE and Kranky ). Not sure any team would cope with that after going down to 10 men!
Now that we no longer have the pointless distinction of having the Best Defence in the Championship, maybe we should concentrate on removing that other monkey from our backs, the one of having the worst goal difference of the top seven?
Still, they should have done lot better. Sheffield Wednesday hardly is team of world beaters. IMO there were bunch of losers playing once they noticed red card in the hand of that "blind owl"
I believe even him could done better in their second goal. Apart from that he was clearly our best player yesterday.
I think its time for those who thought Onouha would be our defensive saviour to finally give it a rest. A decent player with potential to improve but he's no better than the grumpy old men who've played most of the season. That said, any defence would struggle in this side given the sh*t they have in front of them.
