Very true i said the playoffs were a bonus for us-i did not expect anything from them -what a gulf in class on the pitch over the two games. Us we could not score goals that has been the biggest downfall all season. First 20 minutes we played some pretty football but with no killer instinct. As you say rather be at the right end of the championship than the bottom end.
Before Sheffield Utd scored their first there was a period where O'leary was waving at bats circling his head. A question. Did anybody see those bats?
Watched the last twenty minutes of the Sunderland v Coventry game last night-both sides gave their all different gravy to ourselves over the two games.
RR I watched the entire game. Sunderland played like an away team just as they did in the first game. I was amazed how they just defended their own half and I can't remember ever seeing so many long balls going out of play. Coventry reminded me exactly how we play pass pass pass but lacking big time up front. They played Sunderland off the park bar the last 15minutes of extra time. Was I impressed.....definitely not. And should Sunderland gain promotion they will undoubtedly be relegated.
I will be surprised if there’s any other outcome other than a Sheff U win, of course one off games can go either way, it depends who plays better on the day, but still think Sheff U will win,
watched stockport orient last night cracking game but it was a different show in goals. both keepers had players obstructing them and both keeper had none of it, they just drag the opponent out the way and came for the crosses. made O'leary look like an infant.
I thought Jay de Silva had an excellent game for Coventry even after all those years since he left Bristol City. Why do we produce, or find, so many players that move on to better things and thrive at a higher level but still we struggle to build a regularly competitive football club? That unanswered question rings in my ears on an all too regular basis but I suspect I will never learn the code to stop us being boringly average on an annual basis.
He was always capable of playing well, and is good technically, however he’s inconsistent and just too small.
And high wages plus Nige didn’t want him. Some just want to blast the club for players moving on when they see them once having a good game on TV and think they ran as we weren’t good enough. When the fact is it was us that didn’t want them for one reason or another. Plus that one game they may have stepped up like Dave Cotterill did that one game and Wigan paid silly amount of money when we all knew he was never worth it.
NO what happened after the first had it gone in, would have been a different scenario to follow.... they would have restarted at halfway!........
