I'll try that again... Whatever happens at the end of the season, the club needs to change the mix of players on the books. The ones who've gone out on loan have a chance to reset the perception people have of them and rebuild their reps as players worth spending some money on. The ones who have not, but are constantly being put down in the media (deservedly or not, it doesn't matter...) will be very hard to shift indeed. The more of these articles like this one from Shearer, the harder we'll find it to sell people on in the summer. These articles may be true, but they don't help. N
If you pay too much in wages, people tend to shrug their shoulders when things go wrong and feel disconnected. Too little wages has the same effect. If there was a way of renegotiating, then there would be some hope with this bunch of players; however, that's dreamland. If we survive I feel it will be by accident and devoid of passion.
