Crucially though, Chamberlain played a season of first team football and he had a fairly good idea of how good he was. Wenger obviously thought likewise and instructed the Arsenal board to get it done whatever the price. Shaw is yet to earn that level of confidence from a potential suiters and it would be awfully flippant for him to go now. We're in the PL and have an excellent record of bringing youth through, so he has it great already.
