    I'm fine with that.

Used the Taylor of Old Bond Street Shaving Shop cream last night. It produced a fantastic lather and a little went a long way.

The smell, hard to nail really. Quite 'old school'. Ginger perhaps, with a threat of citrus. I was smelling lovely post shave. I used an Astra blade in my razor last night, I've heard loads of good things about them. I must say, a nice close shave with zero irritation after the three passes. I'll stick with these for a while I think. For anyone interested in getting into the double edge shaving, steer clear of Derby blades - they'll hack your face to bits and leave you irritated. These normally come free with the razor. Just bin them straight away.

Tried out the Bluebeard's Revenge shaving cream this evening.

The scent is lovely, if a little weak, but the lather the cream produces is where it comes into it's own. Fantastic.

Used a Shark blade in my razor, a little average tbh. My top three have to be Rapiras, Astras and Feathers. Haven't tried any of the Gillette range of blades yet.

Well, it's that time of year again.

Last night's shave involved a Palmolive shave stick. It was bloody fantastic. The lather my brush generated was excellent and it has a nice clean smell. Set my shave up nicely. A three pass shave with a Rapira blade in my razor, finished off with an alum block rubbed in and rinsed. I'd like to focus on the shaving soap though.

If this had a fancy English name, was more expensive and came in a wooden shaving bowl, everyone would be raving about it. In reality you can pick up the stick for 50p in Tesco. Bargain for any would-be shavers amongst you.

I blogged this post and at the side of a blog it gives you the option to add the blogger as a friend, so I tried it and i came up saying 'You can't be friends with yourself'

Give it a few weeks of lathering your face up with soap and you'll end up with a face as tough as a pair of Rigger Boots.

    No need for the racism.

No, i won't be lathering with it everyday as I shave twice/ three times a week, and I won't be using it everytime I shave.

I have a few Taylor of Old Bond Street creams still to try (Lemon and Lime, Coconut), the Palmolove is merely a weapon in my arsenal.

Try "King of Shaves" oil Bealey. Better than any soap or foam, and a tiny bottle lasts forever.

That's handy for trimming moustaches and goatees, soul patches etc. I have some with menthol in it.

I used to use Clinique skin supplies shaving oil, it is superb. I think they stopped making it though, last stuff I got I ordered on line and it came in from Hong Kong.
Haven't been able to get it since do I've pretty much had a beard/stubble ever since as nothing comes close to it.

    Any alternative recommendations?
