Exactly. What's £5M these days in football? **** all in my opinion. A £5M profit is useless, it smacks of desperation and we look like a club that has just been relegated by selling our best striker right before the opening day. Five million pounds? Wow, tell William and Kate that Hull City can refurbish their flat at Kensington Palace.
Why don't the clubs, agents just bypass the players and go straight to the WAGS and ask them where they want to go to next.
Deeney would have buried at least one of those chances on Thursday night. Not saying he's a definite improvement but he's not a poor player by any stretch of the imagination.
He's too similar to Jelavic though. Where are we going to find a player like Long for less than £12M? We've just shot ourselves in the foot if we can't.
Well seeing that all my kids are well past school age I haven't a clue when the kids holidays are. Thanks for the heads up.
True but I don't think people will respond well to this either, the club put a lot of time and effort into signing him and are paying him (in my opinion) more than he's worth. For him to want to leave as soon as his missus tells him to is a poor effort.
Why do we need to sign another player like Long though? Our goal record didn't improve with him in the team and his goal return was average at best. Don't get me wrong, I like him and enjoyed watching him play, but this is an opportunity to improve on what we had and that may or may not involve signing a different type of striker.
I'd be more than happy with that I guess, Ings looks great even though not played at this level, but how much would be let him go for? I dare it would be around the same price
I just hope we can find a suitable replacement, just gotta keep the faith with Bruce! Providing he is allowed to use the money.
Will Burnley sell him? I feel they would be doomed without him. I would imagine they could convince him to stay and sell if and when they go down.
They're keeping really quiet about this. You'd have thought they'd at least announce they've had an offer and accepted it etc.
I don't think Ings will leave Burnley, or Burnley will be willing to sell. He's arguably their key player and selling him before a new PL campaign would be seen by many as suicide!
