Get carried away. I have :)

Think of it quite simply. What would have happened in the midfield with Morgan and Wanyama pressing up against Lampard and Milner? Yes those 2 were on the pitch I am reliably informed. Answer is we would have ended up with more possession than we had against Fulham. OK that wasn't their first choice. What's their first choice? Gerrard and Cleverley....I'll be back when I've stopped chuckling. We've already shown a couple of times that Gerrard is too old and slow and one dimensional to do well against the new saints and Cleverley?? Even Man U fans slate him as a headless chicken.

Any of those four in their central 2 against Saints would not see much of the ball at all and when they did Lallana would be stealing it off them on the blind side.

YAY we should all get carried away. Maybe after Saturday another 1% will start to believe. Then we will have a total of 3% believing with the other 97% still overusing the word realistic whilst downplaying how good the Saints team and its players are

It's not the club you started supporting, No 7. The only thing that is the same is the location. This club has let nobody down.

Saints haven't 'always let me down with false dawns over the past 30 years. A disappointment here or there sometimes but thats no reason to stay quiet and fear any comebacks. At the end of the season if we finish top4 I'll be delirious. If we finish top 6 I'll be over the moon. If we finish top10 I'll be happy. If we get relegated I'll be disapoointed but still proud to wear the badge.

Whichever of the above happens I'll have been enjoying the ride and letting people know about it. Big game on Saturday. We could be top if Liverpool don't win :)

We would have beaten England comfortably in my opinion. Would have been like the hull game. Schneiderlin would absolutely boss a midfield of Lampard and out-of-form wilshere.
Clyne and shaw would also have effected the game, whereas the full backs on Friday were terrible, as the jay Rooney and Lallana were pressing high and no-one else was on the same wavelength.

Have to say that I entirely understand No 7's feeling about being let down. Inconsistency used to be Southampton FC's middle name. Letting the fans down was often a way of life simply because Saints were content to stay as they were. We all know instances of when they sprang a surprise on us, and it was often the wrong one. Yes, the Liebherr/Cortese Southampton FC springs surprises, but they are almost always good ones.

I suppose 'let down' was a bit strong! What I meant was every time I began to believe, I was brought back down to earth again with a thud!

I agree though SS - this is a different club now. Same badge, same city, but different soul (in a good way). As OakRiver said, wherever we finish I'll be proud of what we have achieved....though if we DID sneak into the top 4 I would be more than delirious!!
