M/d , European football has its advantages , it gets you into the 4th round of the league , no first round exits to Forfar . Why are Sevco not involved in the Ramsden cup tonight ???

We played without a striker Harry. No striker on the pitch at all.

We cashed our chips in and chucked it. We had a good year. Petey got his bonus. **** the rest of us.

The gamble was on getting by this mob is intolerable. Every single one of us called it.

It matters not a **** what happens in the second leg. The gamble was too big to take.

Win 3-0 next week and tonight will be forgotten about , surely we can beat a team of that poor standard in our own back garden by 2 goals , might require extra time but bring it on !!

Win 3-0 next week and nobody is going to be lauding anyone for taking such a chance.

It's not Celtic fault the way the transfer market works , 75% of the deals are done in the last week . The good players wait to see all their options , the poorer players are available but is that what we want ???

I don't think it is good sense to sell a predatory striker then scramble round with a truck load of cash looking to replace him.

That **** needed to be done already.

Elfsborg away was a game you could forget about. Not this one. It is ****ing negligent. We don't forget about these things look at Fletcher however many years on. That **** hasn't gone away. That failure was the benchmark for failures. Sailing close to a repeat, as we are right now is unacceptable.

You all know fine well I've been itching to come back with something against those who profess to know that the GB think they are bigger than the club. Look at Lawwell right now. The man who potentially ****ed this season because he makes decisions not to spend money on a striker..... Are people going to level criticism at him for thinking he's bigger than the club? He's potentially cost the club the equivalent of 100 "**** UEFA" banners.

Didn't post earlier as had to wait until first my disgust waned to the point of annoyance - now just disappointed! Couldn't believe we hadn't played a striker either. We could and should have had a couple of goals all right but you could see their second goal coming given the pattern of play as we ran out of ideas and the fact that our defending was absolutely woeful. Charlie Mulgrew's performance was the worst I've ever seen him play and the only one who got any points from me was Kris Commons who I thought worked hard. I think the temperature there was bordering in the low 30'sC which goes some way to explaining our lack of movement and somewhat lethargic display.

To be fair, Karagandy did to us what we've done to better teams and as someone said previously, they're not mugs, having disposed of Bate by winning both legs 1-0 but apparently a lot of that was owed to an horrific Bate goalkeeping error, a string of missed opportunities, including one from the penalty spot, and some terrific saves from Karagandy's goalkeeper in the Kazakhstan leg. Lets just hope we can actually score a few at home though I wouldn't bet on it given how well organised their defending was ... compared to ours.

Maybe we should slaughter a couple of sheep before the replay?

Hard to disagree with that, although we made it very easy for them.

It is easy to defend against no strikers and we still created enough to come away with something.

I'm privately seething here. Bream Patrick Kayal sat on his hole while Mulgrew runs around like a prick is the fault of Lennon. Giving him no strikers is the fault of Peter Lawwell.

I can feel your anger from here Rebel , I know where your coming from , Lawell is doing what he's done for whole time he's been here .he was caught out with Fletcher and might well be caught out this season but on the whole he's done a magnificent job and he's severely handicapped in doing his job by the standard of the spl .

I don't know if he's done a good job or not. I can see where he has failed and they are massive errors.
Maybe I just can't think of what he has one well because I'm Beeling right now but I'm a couple of hours behind everyone else on the coming down stakes.

I was calm the minute the game finished , might be more out of hope , but surely we saw enough tonight that we can still go through . I know we're in no position to laugh at them , but you saw the worst ever free kick ,all their players up in the box , and the guy duffed it 5 yards in front of him allowing Commons to break upfield

I thought Gordon Strachan made a valid point about rushing to buy in players who may turn out to be unsuccessful and it seems we did try to bring in at least one of a couple of strikers. I know it can be argued that we should have had any number of players lined up in our sights knowing that we were going to lose, basically, the spine of the team but again easier said than done. Today, we made a number of big tactical mistakes in not substituting, early enough, players who were letting us down badly and getting an out-and-out striker on to mix things up ... but there we go. Karagandy have given us a huge challenge and will certainly give us a tough time in the second leg but we can win it ... if all of the players are on form and up for it, the tactics are right and the intensity of our play is sufficient.

Everybody is moaning about the strikers , I was more concerned playing two centre halves in their first European game together away from home .the last time I saw them together was in a pre season humping 6-2 by some German team and we should have lost more .Our goalie had poor game was that down to what was in front of him ??

There are a catalogue of errors where the preparation and team selection for this tie are concerned. Failure to invest - much of which should have been taken care of before hooper and victor left (...there`s also part of me thinks Wilson should have been told he would have to wait until the next transfer window... )playing two centre backs together who have never been paired up in a competitive game before ? Ludicrous, even more so when we know the oppositions main tactic is shelling the ball in to the penalty area at any opportunity. Most of the above has been mentioned already but, also, I cannot see any acceptable reason why we were playing a friendly against Liverpool instead of a competitive match in the league at this stage in the champions league qualifying rounds, resulting in a bunch of kids getting a run out while the first team sit on their arses rather than improve their match sharpness and - with new players - understanding of how they play together.

The defense was a joke, my trunks went brown every time they hoofed the ball up the pitch. Have no doubt this team is way below our level, the warning signs were there as we struggled to get a shot on goal away to Elfsborg. I tipped up the under goals to a fella yesterday (got distracted and didn't back it myself) because I thought we'd struggle to score going on recent form... I didn't think we were likely to concede though...

Anyway, for a David v Goliath match that stadium atmosphere was tame - we'll get a full house at Celtic Park and scoring 2 goals is more than realistic - just have to hope we don't concede.

Point taken and accepted Harry but look at the way Karagandy set up in defending - they didn't leave it to their half-backs and goalkeeper but defended in numbers. Their first goal had two of our experienced players, Charlie Mulgrew and Joe Ledley, closest to the scorer although I think Mulgrew was the one at fault. Their scorer of the second goal could have been stopped had Scott Brown, like Ledley was trying to do, 'broken his neck' to get back.

Full house !!! Section 111 will be empty , we've made a song and dance about travelling a long distance , think this lot will take it in their stride hopefully they will get nervous like they did in the first ten minutes tonight when we should have scored .

More reasoned now... All the criticisms I've read of team, management and board are wholly justified.

We can get back in the tie. We can win the tie........ but where we are right at this moment in time is a stinking pile of ****e.
