    Good Morning Everyone,

The England match last night got me thinking.....:emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd:

What a difference it made in the second half bring on the wide men.

    Why don't we do that?

When was the last time we effectively used wide players? It must be Gradel and Snodds, surely?

We have 12 midfielders, not one of them would be able to do a job out wide!!!

IN FACT OUT OF THE 34 PLAYERS WE HAVE, ONLY FOUR CAN PLAY OUT WIDE

Walters - Not getting close to the first team

    Ajose - Ditto

Montenegro - Can play as a winger or out and out striker. Has not been used yet.

White - Not getting close to the first team. BTW, its his Birthday today. Only 23 years old!!!!!

Surely Darko needs to be able to influence games, if things are not going well on the pitch!

Ken Bates has announced that his radio station Radio Yorkshire has been given rights to broadcast live commentary of Leeds first team games.

Speaking to Radio Yorkshire, Bates said, "The big news this week is that Radio Yorkshire will be broadcasting live radio commentary, both home and away, of all the Leeds United first team games."

The closure of Yorkshire Radio allowed BBC Radio Leeds to return as the chief broadcaster of Leeds United first team games but Bates said in December 2013, when he announced the new station was ready to go on air, he wanted to give BBC Radio Leeds competition and broadcast live commentary.

Maybe Ken will send us an audio link?

If you are wondering what difference it makes NOT having Stephen Warnock in the side, here are some stats...

Morning. I actually quite like Warnock at lb. But as a long term plan, Taylor or AN Other has to be the aim.

On Bates, DILIGAF!!! Some of us have LUTV. So don't have to worry.

On wingers, yes it would be great to have Snoddy and Gradel back. But we move on. Would like to see more of Ajose, but I doubt that's going to happen. After the U21s, I'd like to see Montenegro, Adryan and Dawson all in the squad with Adryan and Montenegro both starting.

Have now got over the excitement of England's game. At least we won... unlike Spain. The first half of our game might have been a bit of a bore, but t least it was 3 more points.

Morning all, think I prefer Berardi LB,Warnock was nowhere to be seen for Brentfords 2nd goal, maybe offers a bit more going forward but costs us goals.

Fair point Chesh. But as one who kept singing Whaite's praises, isn't it nice that we've really moved on and would appear to have decent competition in all places, including at LB. Still think it'll take Darko a few games before he knows what his strongest starting XI look like.

Strong squad and would be great if Adryan or Montenegro or both come good.

Good Morning from a beautiful sunny Cote de Bardsey.Thamk you Matt for thge picture of the Bingley Arms it brings back happy memories for me not sure it will for my better half though!
I have long preached we need wide boys but to no avail it gives us another dimension I wanted Jamie Murphy of thye blades and Burke on a free but now I would break the bank for young Gray of Birmingham a future star if ever there was one!
Not interested in England playing a pub team and if Rooney does break Charltons record so what he will have played twice as many games!
Believe me when I say the record will be broken many times if we play pub teams

As much as I'm not a fan of Rooney and hate who he plays for, i'm afraid that doesn't stack up...

    Rooney 42 in 98 games
    Charlton 49 in 106 games

At that rate it should take him about 114 games, slightly more than Charlton.

Yes there's teams like San Marino he's scored against, but there were plenty of teams back in Charltons day that were equally as poor, some of which have evolved massively since...

    Charlton scored in these games:
    Luxemburg 9-0
    Switzerland 8-1
    Mexico 8-0
    USA 10-0
    Russia 5-0

    Amongst others

We could maybe beat Luxemburg by a similar scoreline today, but the other teams?

There was only 1 Charlton anyway <ok>

Credit where credit's due. He might play for the sc&m, but he is still a class act. & had he broken Charlton's scoring record last night, he wouldn't have got the credit he deserves. When he eventually does, good luck to him I say.

You'll find there were two RCDM; one who played for the sc&m before they were the sc&m & a half decent CB who plyed for us!!!

True, but many of Bobby Charlton's were scored against pub team - remember we played "home internationals" every year back then. Charlton scored the majority of his goals in friendlies whereas 30 of Rooney's goals have been scored in actual competitions <ok>

Morning Boggers, totally agree with you regarding Montenegro, Adryan and Dawson.

Don't think we'll see Ajose again....

It will be a collectors item. They are going with the recycled kit we had at home last year. White with the blue stripe down the front.

or even the great Jimmy Greaves, 44 goals in 57 matches..........

as a goalscorer he is head and shoulders above Charlton,Rooney, Lineker and any other englishman you care to put forward

Whoever we compare Rooney with, he'll compare well and will pass everyone soon.
