More likely he'd focus on his arguement that Everton wouldn't be very good to save face which to be fair he was right about. He was just totally wrong about us!
Been busy this week so havent been on so here is my views on the weeks events Shakey should have been given the next 5 or 6 games against teams that we should be beating. Sacking him after 8 games bearing in mind the fixtures is harsh imo but thats football Michael Appleton came across very well today and said he wants to team to keep the ball abit better which Iborra and eventually Silva will help us do. He has made is clear he wants to honor his assistant manager contract as he left a manager job not long ago. I hope the club do keep him on but that will go down to the new manager There is no outstanding candidate IMO. And atm I dont have a preference The talk was Jon Rudkin sacked Shakey and was never beind him. David Wagner apparently agreed to become out manager in the summer if Huddersfield didnt go up and Rudkin was the driving force behind that Rudkin has alot to answer for since he became football director and IMO he is running the club into the ground with his decisions. He ****ed up with the Drinkwater/ Silva mess. He has been negotiating contracts and transfer fees. He sacked Ranieri in disrespectful circumstances IMO. Ranieri deserves more respect then being sacked at the airport after a good performance in the Champions League after what Ranieri did for us that was disgusting way to sack him Rudkin then pushed for Shakespeare to be sacked and the owners went with it as for some reason they are really behind Rudkin We need to get Rudkin out of our football club as long term success isnt going to happen with him here and rather then building a legacy from the title winning season and pushing on we have gone backwards at an alarming rate. Yes we was always going to come back to reality but should be doing better then flirting with relegation battlers.
I think Rudkin is actually doing a pretty good job. We did well in the transfer market this summer despite difficult circumstances (yes the 14 seconds is ultimately his fault but probably someone in the team beneath him) and we are as relatively sustainably ran as you realistically get with a clear business model. Sacking Ranieri simply had to happen and credit to him I sat for firstly giving him time to turn it around and then having the balls to make a massive (and correct) decision in the interests of the club without letting emotions take over. This one does seem a bit odd and it’s a shame to lose Shakey as part of the club as he has been excellent but that was what was always going to happen. I’m extremely excited to see that Dyche might be tempted and Pellegrini/Mancini are also excellent but I worry we will end up with Coleman. Need to move quick though before West Ham sack Billic as they would probably get first pickings over us
I agree with most of that other than with Rudkin. It may have been someone from his team but ultimately he is responsible for his team. I just get a bad feeling about the guy that he runs the show. Would sooner have Steve Walsh back in his position if things don't work at Everton, someone of his ilk anyway. Like the idea of the managers you mention though, especially Dyche for some reason!
The stats behind Shakey's dismissal did add up to his position coming under severe scrutiny. But there were mitigating circumstances. For the final few games of last season we had no Drinkwater in midfield alongside Ndidi, and we have seen this season how weak we are in that area. We then got rid of Drinky and screwed up on his replacement. But we still started the season with a good team performance against Arsenal which we should never have lost. Since then we have totally gone off the boil (until yesterday) and played without conviction and desire, culminating in that dire first half performance against West Brom. But you have to ask the question why the same players can roll up their collective sleeves against Swansea and put in a committed performance when they looked completely apathetic the previous Monday. Having said that, Shakey was always going to be a risk as a manager as he had no previous managerial experience, and I think his lack of tactical nous and game management has been shown to be average at best, but he was done no favours by the disastrous performance on transfer deadline day. If we don't get the next appointment right, and get a top class manager in and let him make all the decisions around the team, transfers and backroom support, then we'll become the laughing stock of the league. I don't understand what is going on at the club at the moment. If only we knew someone with an insider in the club...... On second thoughts, forget that!
Hear hear Proud....... been saying this for ages mate ! Rudkin = trying to put square pegs in round holes .
Did a good job at Southampton. I really don't know where the club are going and what they want, seems to be no idea so it's hard to speculate on a new manager. I think he'll have a break anyway. Funny how Everton are being seen to do the right thing though
Former Argentina midfielder Matias Almeyda, who is the current boss of Mexico's Guadalajara, is a contender for the Leicester job. (Mirror) I don't have a clue who this is, but if he takes the job I can see you knobheads titting around at games in sombreros!
You wouldn't Quentin .... but anybody who knows anything about football does . He played in the same Argentina team as Pochettino ... you do know that Pochettino is Argentinian and a former player, don't you Quents?
Claude Puel rumours getting stronger... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...l-involved-discussions-Leicester-coaches.html
See you found the Leicester board That's your prediction for our new manager is it oracle? So you'll admit you were wrong when it's not him appointed?
I would be underwhelmed with him. Didn't seem to be very entertaining at Southampton but I do think they sacked him unfairly (thought not according to the media who agree with all sackings that aren't Leicester). I don't know much about him before though at Nice so if he had it in his locker to try and change the way we play it could work
I hope you don't end up with Speedy Gonzales, mate, for your sake! You need a Big Sam or some other relegation specialist to get you out of the ****. After that, you can start dreaming about building into a "top of bottom half" side.
Quentin ... what have Spurs actually won mate? ... we've won the EPL title very recently ... looks like we are looking at a manager from the same International side as yours (not that YOU'D know it )... albeit probably a better footballer in his own right .... so the future is bright for one of only 6 clubs to have ever won the EPL title ... so come back when either your footballing knowledge has improved or Spurs have won something .... (just hope they'll have WiFi in that retirement home eh lads? )
