Colin's Column came second on the 'most useless things on Hull's streets' list... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/usel...ouble-yellow/story-20025653-detail/story.html
Is there any reason why the public dont get consulted when things that involve the residents are planned.
OT but I cant believe speed bumps came top of that list. They are proven - factually - to reduce deaths. Angus has young kids, he should know better.
Tonkin Lui (the designer) says: "Shadow Gate will work as a tool for marking points in time, a device to highlight the important moments in Hull's history and future. The design learns from traditional sundials and applies the principles in an innovative way. "The sculpture allows shafts of light through the structure where areas of shadow exist, to land on designated points on the ground, marking the key times." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/stri...tory-29043909-detail/story.html#ixzz48LWJOXfL
True. 16% turn out on OP estate . About 20% in general maybe a little bit higher. Not bothered most residents it would seem.
A man with a white van to shackle a chain around It & drive off, within 6 months of Its erection. (prediction).
Looks like a 60's lampshade. My wife says it looks like a waste paper bin, so on reflection it could be more than very useful.
They would, if possible have been better projecting a light image of the gate above ground at the actual gate location. Not some massive piece of **** that looks like someone has just found something sizeable down at the local scrappy which they are now trying to pass off as art, with an arty price tag to match. They can GTF.
It'll be interesting to see what the actual planning decision is. I doubt the committee proposed or designed it, I guess they'll be guided on the legalities of the application. It's the same all over the country.
