You're implying there is something derogatory about being working class there, surely that's wrong of you?

Well yes, generally they are. i dont think unemployment has ever been above 51% in this country. And I take it back if you were referring to that large socio economic group of Liverpool-based Liverpool fans who are from the middle and upper classes yet presently find themselves unemployed.

Most people in Liverpool consider themselves working class. FACT. I would guess that most Liverpool based Liverpool fans are not presently unemployed. Tell you what - shall we take this debate over to the Liverpool board? I'm game if you are.

<laugh> What has wound you up so much?

I've made a very lazy joke about the stereotype of Liverpudlians being unemployed. Get on with your life, I'm sure even you have greater worries.

Because I find it offensive to joke about people being unemployed. I'm funny like that.

I do wish Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand had come out with that statement after the complaints about the Andrew Sachs call.

<laugh> Poor chap, it's really got you hasn't it?

Are you a Liverpudlian or unemployed (if you're one you're likely to be the other)? Or do you merely enjoy getting offended on other people's behalf?

I was going to leave this there, I'm sure other people are as bored with this as I am, but i really cant cos that comment massively takes the biscuit. So you can only be offended by something if it directly impacts you eh? Hmmm. Next time I hear a hate-filled misogynistic, racist, xenophobic or anti-Semitic rant I'm going to raucously show my support.

    Nice try BCC.

Unfortunately bigotry is blind. And your right, it's certainly not funny.

I saw a flag on the TV the other day.

It was at a Liverpool game and was being proudly held aloft by an adult male.

    It stated the following;

    'Scouse, not English'

I thought 'fair play' to the thieving, dole bum scummer for being so proud of his bin dipping heritage.

I also thought that he could go **** himself the deluded tit.

Because having a light hearted joke about a lazy stereotype is up there with "hate-filled misogynistic, racist, xenophobic or anti-Semitic rants" isn't it <doh>

    Get a job grip.

Youre the one who said I should only be offended if something directly impacted me. I was offended by the racist comments from your players as well, but it turns out I shouldnt have been bothered because I havent got 'slit eyes'.

I do as it goes, I'm out to dinner with friends tonight and tomorrow. I dont know why being offended by someone joking about unemployment is seen as a negative. Im sure you'd find it hilarious if you couldnt support your family.

Not a direct quote admittedly but it has the same implied meaning.

Because it's obvious, maybe not to you.
