We're on the football rich list, 5'th in the country i think( that was 2010/2011) so may have changed a bit, but back then we was the 5'th richest club in england. so just relax & smile when some of our fish friends mention finances!
Perhaps they mean your finances Southampton_FC...do you owe anyone 40 million by any chance?
i have done a few cash in hand jobs recently!!!I thought our position was very clear, as publicly stated by Nicola Cortese on several occasions: we have a five year plan to get back to the Premier league, at which point our income will exceed our expenditure and we will start to pay back the loan from the Liebherr Trust. Until then, we will run at a loss, but our debts are underwritten by the Trust so they are not "real" debts, and we have no other creditors.
Not sure of the finer points but that's the gist of it. If any other club in the country has a better business plan, I'd like to know who they are.
Visiting the snooze website is a very dangerous thing.
There you will read mischievious untruths, foul mouthed insults and nasty language used to describe people by people with names like scumbasher and scumthumper and things of that ilk.
What you will never read there is calm, reasoned, intelligent, informed and articulate debate on south coast football.
So be warned don't ever go to such a nasty place again stay on not606 where all the intelligent football supporters of both Saints and Pompey hang out.
PS I will for fairness sake also suggest you do not read the Echo comments for the same reason.
Apparently we have to pay a former creditor 4 million if we get to the PL before 2015/6. Wonder who that is? Presumably someone who helped us out in bad times but wanted some money back when we were in good times.
Leon Crouch..?
Lowe had no money.
Crouch lost 2mil I think, were as Good old Lowe made 3mil.
Chillax guys, Saints' finances are in safe hands.
Never hurts to take a look at the money side of the club from time to time though.
