Yes there's no doubt that some of us have been knocked by this and as valley and others have mentioned throughout the day that if he spoke to Liverpool two weeks ago instead of not saying he wasn't interested then i reckon he'd have the blessing and good wishes of 99.9% of the fans.

I can't wish him success but I thank him for his achievements with us. We owe him a lot, and when most fans stop acting like someone who's left them a 'Dear John' letter they'll realise I'm right.

We're bigger than Rodgers though, and Jenkins - the guru of appointments - will get it right again and Rodgers will be just another stepping stone for us, much as we have been for him.

Well, yes of course he's a hero and always will be to most sensible unblinkered fans - those who go to live games instead of watching on a laptop or down Bryn-Y-Mor Road in the pub. Have you not watched us beat the Champions on our patch or give Chelsea and Arsenal a run for their money? Maybe you were at the bar Phill.
