This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. A few wins against easy teams will not hide our inadequacies. Until we (a) swap out very average players for good ones (b) learn how to defend (c) have a more balanced approach (d) learn how to manage games and (e) buy some leaders we will win absolutely nothing. Zilch. Nowt. Nada, f#ck all.

Not really. The others have limitations - Moreno just does utterly stupid things. Blatantly pushing people over when they're running away from you is not down to a lack of ability or bad timing - it's just brainlessness.

Moreno is a brainless chump who can run quite fast. He'll always make howlers because of that. It's not his fault <ok>

Let's be absolutely honest.

We are crucifying our defence. Quite rightly. But our goals were gifted to us. Two corners defended like a Sunday pub team and a long ball which hardly does credit to a top team defending.

We should have won the game but we didn't have a great performance even in the first half IMO.

A bad day at the office for Mr. Pool.
After turning up early for work and smashing through his 'in' tray, Mr. Pool had a lovely lunch and decided to put his feet up for the remainder of the day. "I know, I will outsource all of this afternoons' work to an intern. I have already got ahead for the day" he thought to himself.
Alas, the intern Mr. Pool relied on was the reckless and feckless office Spaniard. In a crass display of incompetence and imbecility, Alberto failed to file all of the TPS reports and proceeded to fill out the requisition forms with ¿qué? on every line. He spent the rest of the afternoon licking the windows until Herr Bossman sent him home and assigned the work to 'boring' James.
The gossip in the office lately was that Alberto has been improving in his workload but his colleagues and the company customers have been misled. Whilst walking in a straight line may be progress for Alberto, it is relatively simple task for his colleagues (and most 3 year olds).
Dejan, the shakey janitor got mixed congratulations for his work on that day. Some applauded his work in polishing a turd. But others were critical of the fact that Herr Bossman asked Dejan to remove the stool sample that Alberto left on the carpet, not to make it presentable.

Me too tbh. We still have control of the group. Truth is that when we come up against anyone half decent, we struggle so today is a good result in that regard!

We weren't great in the second half but we were coping. Poor first Sevilla goal but we were containing them after that. Shocking call from the referee for a blatant dive put unnecessary pressure on the defence for the rest of the game. Klavan & Lovren were never going to hold out at that point

Moreno also superbly covered the CBs and keeper several times but lets focus on the silly push and fake penalty.
Because they were the things that threw away the win, and sadly it's the mistakes you get remembered for.
You think he did ok, then?

Moreno caught the lad. He was entitled to go down. Moreno gave them the first and second goals.

I thought he was having a decent enough game and he's made one mistake (the push).

I'm not a Moreno fan either, far from it.

Have you been possessed by Jimmy?
If Lovren had done those things everyone would have been all over it.

Not a chance. Blatant dive. The lad took another step before deciding to go down
Yes, he did take another step with his free foot, the problem came when he tried to take another with the foot that was pinned to the floor under Moreno's :emoticon-0100-smile

not seen it but if he was impeded it's a foul regardless of whether he took another step.

I remember Stevey G getting one after Sheffied United even though he took a few more steps and took a shot :P
