When harry arrived, we took short corners, and we won games. That lasted a month or so and we've been playing the same **** way since.

Remember that Bale goal that came from a corner? The ball didn't clear the first man, it didn't need to because Bale stepped in front of him.

Lumping it in the box for Kaboul or King doesn't work. It never has.

lack of composure..therefore lack of ideas..possesion is pointless as a consolation for us...it just exposes our weakness.

Dont know why we dont just take every corner short if we cant deliver a decent ball into a dangerous area...... bring back Anderton!

I think that the whole thing needs to be rethought and practiced more.

Modric can't take corners, but he's very useful with the ball otherwise.
Make him the short option at every corner, so that the opposition have to move a player out of the box to deal with him, even if he's not used.
Van der Vaart's also useless at delivering them, but he's got good movement, he does head the odd goal and he's got a dangerous shot on him.
Move him to the edge of the box, allowing for late runs into it or the option to shoot from any poor clearances.
King's not able to get up and down the pitch any more and he's not threatening from these set-pieces, so why does he waste his energy going up for them?
Leave him back and have Parker stay there with him, allowing Assou-Ekotto to take some and Walker to attack them.
If Defoe's playing, then he needs to stand in front of the opposition goalkeeper, as he's no threat in the air. That still makes available to pick up any loose balls.

Overall, it's just a mess at the moment.

I still think Benny should be taking them. His effort the other night wasn't the worst-Kabouls's blasts have been atrocious and how many times have we tried them?

As I said earlier and I see PNP agreed- King shouldn't even bother going up for them anymore- (maybe Friedel should).

I agree with blue and white...Benny should have a pop..actually we are so rubbish i think we should give them to Friedel...at least we know he will get it past and above the first man!

If you look at all the teams around us, they have CB's who get on the scoresheet and you need that when you're strikers are having one of those days, you can't rely on them each game. Just because a player is good defensively in the air, it doesn't follow they should be good in attack. Ade is supposed to be a serious aerial threat (YK needs to work on it some more, LK's lost it at that end imo) so the sheer lack of headed chances he's had with us is baffling. Its no good saying any of the rest are good in the air, they're not consistant enough, so they're not. Do people now see the difficulty our wingers/crossers have. To try and pinpoint 1 target everytime is nigh on impossible, for a team that wants to use wingers its staggering that getting players in with decent attacking heading ability has been overlooked, its no good us moaning about teams better set piece records, they have 4/5 really decent headers of the ball, we don't, its as simple as that imo.
