Where did Pardew say Ben Arfa was as good as Messi?

I've seen articles where Pardew compared Ben Arfa to Messi, but he never said Ben Arfa was as good or near as good as Messi.

I don't care what people think of Tiote's little moment where he went down on the floor to get Sessegnon sent off. Tiote is a ****ing beast. Faking injuries actually shows that a person isn't soft. Maybe a bit of a cheat, but not a soft ****e.

He'd be classed as a soft ****e if he was genuinely hurt after Sessegnon elbowed him, but the delayed reaction shows it was acting, not pain that caused him to go down.

The Sunderland team put numerous ridiculously bad challenges in during the derby, and it was clear that they were trying to wind us up and they came to SJP with a plan, and that plan was, don't let us play and wind up the opposition so they do something stupid.

Tiote put in a few little cheeky digs, but he never put in anything near as bad as the one Cattermole did on Tiote in the first minute or the one Mclean did on Simpson.

They were looking for a bite from our players, but they were the ones that bit in the end. Tiote marked Sessegnon well, roughed him up and Sess lashed out in frustration.

If one of our players had hit or headbutted one of the Sunderland players, I would have put my house on any of the 11 players falling to the ground screaming like girls and appealing to the ref for a red card.

Look at a load of the recent Sunderland games when their players were all crowding around the refereeing and getting into fights?

A few of our players might be going down easy at times, but Sunderland is the worst team for wind up merchants and trying to get players to lash out so they can gain advantage.

Have you not seen the Fair Play league?

Your team were just as guilty boyo.

And in somewhat more philosophical terms, would it not be better to be soft than be a cheat? I would have said so but you seem to differ.

Oh and NMG, sort your life out.

The fair play league is a parcel of hog ****.

We put the ball out of play for opposition players injuries far too much, when we could have gone on to make a chance or score a goal. If that isn't fair play I don't know what it is.

If you look at the Fair play league, it's a load of bollocks. The respect towards the referee, we're bottom, yet Man U that surround the referee everytime something doesn't go their way are in second. Just one of the examples of stupidity in it.

The fair play league is marked by referee's, they are scared of Man Utd, the fair play league is a load of rubbish. Also Tiote went down because he was elbowed, which is a red card, not cheating it's clever play. Find it laughable how Sunderland supporters have a go at Tiote for being the softest hard guy ever, when they hard guy was on the middle of the pitch crying a few years back, very tough also vandalising cars what a big man knows his victims aren't there to cave him in.

I actually prefer to see different points of view in my mind that's more interesting for a forum. Bernie Slaven always says the legends is better if the teams are doing badly. As for wanting to be a geordie it's actually a massive bugbear of mine that people from hored, peterlee, easington, blackhall, horden support newcastle and think they are geordies. No they are not they are just idiots imo. Furthermore, their ancestors will have fought against the royalist city of newcastle. I am not saying they should take up arms again as I detest violence but its just goes against their allegiances. Oh with this in mind I have changed my opinion about tiote because I'm a pacifist I now like him , he's the sort of 'Audley Harrison' of midfield hard men.

Definetly not. That is naive in the extreme. Every team without exception in the PL is cheating, you need to be the best at it.

Cheating is when you go down in the box to get a pen when you haven't been touched (see laarson)

Going down when there HAS been contact to emphasis it to the ref is playing to the situation and highlighting it to the ref is being a bit more intelligent (something a lot of sunlan players lack)and does not make them a fairy.

The lad for Sunlan who won the pen at our place did just this, it WAS a pen for a shirt tug but he went down fairly easily to emphasis it to the ref. Can't argue with it.

As embarrassing as Tiote's and Perch's reactions were, there was contact and both players deserved to go on both occassions. There reaction just emphasised it to the ref.

To act dishonestly (check), deceive or trick (check), to mislead (check), etc.

Just some ways of defining the act of cheating, all of which have been exhibited recently.

I don't seem to remember condoning cheating, whether this is breaking the laws of the game, or through terrible sportsmanship. This relates to any player regardless of who they play for.

Yes, WP my viewpoint may seem very naive to you, however, the fact that all teams do it is not an excuse. How dare I have ideals and stick to them?!

And as far as the fair play league is concerned, I was just using that as evidence to suggest that all the poor sportsmanship might have actually been contrary to the consensus on here of it being a one way street.
